The Dubrovnik Riviera/Islands region
Dubrovnik, the most southern Croatian city, is a tourist, cultural, administrative, economic and educational centre of Dubrovačko-neretvanska county.
Located at 42o88" North latitude (somewhat "above" Rima) and 18o7" East Longitude (approximately as Stockholm).
Dubrovnik is protected by hills Zarkovica (321 m.) and Srđ (419 m.), Dubrovnik is surrounded, from the seaside, by a group of islands known as Elaphiti Islands (Šipan, Lopud, Koločep, Tajan, Olipa, Jakljan and Daksa).

Dubrovnik is city of harmony of vegetation, stone and the sea, painted singed and described by pen so with every right we can say - one of the most beautiful cities in the world.
Dubrovnik is an ideal destination and place for a vacation the whole year around, because of it's mild Mediterranean climate, amount of sunny days during the year, a rich historic and cultural content, as well as a rich tourist offer.
The town offers plenty of art exhibitions, museums and galleries. On February 3rd every year you can enjoy the traditional customs of Dubrovnik for the Day of Saint Blaise ( Saint Vlaho)who is the protector of the city. February is also the time of Carnival in Dubrovnik, so come and join us masked.
During September every year you can be part of the famous music festival Rachlin & friends.
Dubrovnik has a lot to offer but it is not always easy to fit it all in, so planing beforehand might come in handy. From the Old City harbour, there is a boat that goes to a small uninhabited island of LOKRUM. It is a nature reserve and you can find plenty of places to swim and even more footpaths.
From the same pier in town you can catch a boat to CAVTAT, a delightful resort with picturesque bay, harbour and palm-fringed promenade. It is a mix of ancient culture and pavement cafes, bars and restaurants which come alive in the evening. You can also visit the local Art gallery of Vlaho Bukovac, baroque parish church and domed mausoleum built by famous sculptor Ivan Mestrovic.
You can take a public bus to the worlds oldest arboretum in Trsteno, and there are a lot of other things you can see with organised day trips to Island Mljet, Island Korcula, Delta of Neretva, Dining with a family, Mostar and many others and their prices and other information you can get from your landlord.
If on the other side you are an artistic soul, we do painting courses and painting holidays all year around so click www.artsholidays.com and see what you can do with those paints.

Guestbook for Artemida Apartment Bete
*I just wanted to say that we had a great time in Dubrovnik and the apartment was really beautiful.
*It's been a pleasure knowing you and your husband and if I return to Dubrovnik someday I'll contact with you.
*I just wanted to say a big thank you for letting us stay at your apartment in Dubrovnik. We had a fantastic time and think Dubrovnik is a really beautiful place. Of all the cities we've visited on our trip the people there are also the most friendly and accommodating.
*This is the best location you could ever hope for. Central and only minutes away from the beach. Great for relaxing in the heat of the day and then wandering in the old town, having great food and drinks in the evening and then maybe taking in one of the excellent concerts that Dubrovnik is famous for. The apartment is stunning, spotlessly clean, newly furnished and with an excellent lay out. I had an amazing, relaxing, happy and hassle free holiday there. I was picked up and taken back to the airport. The bakery is on the doorstep, the supermarket 1 minutes walk away. I recommend it highly and I will definitely return, and for someone that prides herself on going to new places that is praise indeed! Thanks Silva and family for a wonderful holiday.
