The Dubrovnik Riviera/Islands region
Located in Southern Dalmatia, Dubrovnik is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and you will see why when you drive above it on the road into Dubrovnik – it’s beautiful! Apart from the outstanding natural beauty and pristine environment, it has an incredibly well preserved historical heritage and offers a great variety of attractions... With over 2,500 hours of sunshine a year, Dubrovnik also ranks among the sunniest towns of southern Europe...
The Dubrovnik Riviera takes about 2 hours to drive along and there are many fabulous places to visit...base yourself inside the walls of the medieval town of Dubrovnik itself and take a step back into history – there are oodles of cosy bars and restaurants serving fantastic sea food and organic wine .
Dubrovnik itself only has a beach or two to it's name, but there are two communities only a 30 minute walk from the old town that hold the majority of the beaches in the area. The walk to/from Lapad is fascinating. There are sunbathing opportunities the entire way, but the best part is the teal blue water crashing at your feet and the islands in the distance.
