The Dubai region
Dubai has a rich collection of buildings of various architectural styles. Many modern interpretations of Islamic architecture can be found here, due to a boom in construction and architectural innovation in the Arab World in general, and in Dubai in particular, supported not only by top Arab or international architectural and engineering design firms, but also by top firms of New York and Chicago.

Dubai Marina is a fully-fledged waterfront lifestyle destination complete with marinas, beaches and promenades (JBR Walk) along the sea and its 3.6 km man-made canal (Marina Walk), snaking through its midst.
Dubai Marina is nestled between Dubai's main artery Sheikh Zayed Road (SZR) and the Gulf with a view of the Palm Jumeirah from many towers. Part of 'new Dubai' it ideal for commuters to the capital.
Dubai Marina has 2 metro stations and access to SZR is easy. The 'old' centre of Dubai, Bur Dubai and Deira, is about a 30-minute drive away. Major shopping malls like Ibn Battuta, Mall of the Emirates and Dubai Mall are around 10 to 20 minutes away respectively. The Marina's proximity to Dubai Media & Internet City makes it a favorite for those working there.
Dubai Marina is known as a hip and glitzy neighbourhood, thus attracting young professionals mostly renting their properties. Nationalities, as in most areas in Dubai, are very mixed. Dubai Marina is home to many young families taking advantage of the beach lifestyle and shops & entertainment on offer at The Walk.

"Nice flat but logistical challenges…."
The flat and organization in advance (booking) was ok and the landlady herself was very friendly, but the local organization with the local contact person/administrator e.g. arrival, turnover of the key etc was terrible. When we arrived late with two little kids the administrator was not available. Although I tried to make sure in advance, that this would not happen (emphasizing that we arriving late and are traveling with two little kids…)
After severals tries with several "emergency numbers" we reached somebody who was not in charge but who promised to advise the right contact person.
Then at the car rental, we noticed that we did not have the accurate address, just the name of the building - no contact person was available then. So we finally got there asking around in the middle of the night, following a taxi driver in the end…
Then the demanded baby-crip was not there and we remained without one till the end. Because again no contact person available….
The flat and its location is very nice though, although the dishwasher was not working properly…
But if you make sure that you got the right address and the right numbers of contact persons and do not need extra accessories (like baby crip ;-)) we can recommend this vacation rental...

You are right, some organization moments were on a poor level as we had new people in our team and your trip was in a high season just before the New Year. Anyway, apologizes for it.
Regarding the address- As per company policy we send service voucher for every guest otherwise booking can not be confirmed.
I found the voucher which was sent to you- please check it also- there is a full address of the apartments where you was staying: Unit number of the apartment, Building Name and Area Name, City. In Dubai we do not have street names, only area and Buildings.
Shame that the Taxi Driver prefer to confuse you rather then to learn the most popular tourist attractions area in Dubai.
