Every July Drumshanbo plays host to the award winning Joe Mooney Summer School. This is a week long traditional festival of Irish music, song and dance named after the man who did so much to promote the cause of Leitrim and his beloved town.

Drumshanbo in County Leitrim has the distinction of being the only place that An Tóstal has continued to run every year since 1953.

An Tóstal was inaugurated then to depict the varied aspects of Irish life and culture throughout the country of Ireland. and will run over two weekends.
