The Cornwall region

Downderry is a traditional and charming small village straddling the waterfront beach. The Inn on The Shore has a glass fronted wall overlooking sea and beach, perched right on the shore, good food, an idyllic setting. Sit in the pub whilst keeping an eye on the children on the beach below. . A few other cafes and restaurants in the village such as the Blue Plate Restaurant. The village is a rather quieter destination, tucked away from busier and more well known places such as nearby Looe. In summertime fishermean pull their small boats up onto the beach, the main catch being crab and oyster which are sometimes available for sale. There is a General stores and Post Office. Just along the road, a stroll away in fact, is the adjoining tiny village of Seaton with its own pub and beach. The huge classic sandy beaches at Whitsand Bay are only 2 miles away. Plymouth is only a short driving distance.
