Ca' Venexiana is comprised of a living room with fireplace, a full kitchen with dining area, full bathroom, two luxurious bedrooms, and a quiet private courtyard that opens directly onto the crossing of two canals. It is set on the ground floor with no worry of acqua alta (high water) as entry is accessed by way of a small set of stairs, keeping our flat more than 1+ metre above ground level. Our position provides for washes of natural light and views that are simply charming.

Further details outdoors

Ca' Venexiana is located in sestriere Dorsoduro, long preferred by artists and writers alike for its peace, beauty, and inspiration. We are easily accessible and well placed for seeing all that Venice has to offer. Within moments of our doorstep, you will find the popular and enjoyable Campo San Margherita, Campo San Barnaba, and the Zattere, all perfect and unique spots for basking in the Venetian atmosphere.

Amenities are also very close by. Steps away, you will meet with a fine selection of open-air markets and groceries, while numerous restaurants, bars, and cafes (as well as the best gelaterias in Venice) are ready to welcome you. Galleries and artists' studios abound; you can watch artisans at work preparing for Carnevale in the mascherie. Gaze from our windows onto the local squero, where gondolas are still made by hand as they have been for centuries. Dorsoduro is home to some of Venice's oldest and most beautiful churches...among them San Sebastiano, I Carmini, and the stunning Santa Maria della Salute, a true jewel on the Grand Canal.

A short stroll across the Grand Canal by way of nearby Accademia Bridge leads you to the magnificent Piazza San Marco with its incredible basilica and campanile. While there, don't miss the regal Palazzo Ducale and the ever wistful Ponte dei Sospiri (Bridge of Sighs). Follow along winding passageways, past noble palazzi, to the famous Ponte de Rialto (Rialto Bridge). This bustling marketplace simply overflows with the sights and sounds and scents that are so unique to this remarkable city. One thing is certain...wherever you turn...around any corner...hidden treasure awaits.

This is Venezia...this is heaven.

"Much to like"

There is much to like about this ground floor apartment in an early 20th century building. It is in a quiet location away from the tourist hordes who seem to be turning Venice into a historical theme… More

I'm so glad you enjoyed your stay despite the poor winter weather and season that also prevented you from enjoying the lovely Venetian sunlight that usually fills our living room during the more temperate seasons of the year. Venetian winters are known for their somewhat shrouded misty days. Unfortunately we cannot guarantee our guests a sun-filled stay year round. If only we could! Grazie mille.

Thank you for your kind review. We are sorry you didn't prefer the bedding arrangement in the second bedroom (as two twin beds), although in our advertisement and photographs, we do indicate that the bedroom is laid out this way, so I hope it didn't come as a complete surprise. We cater to numerous families and have found that the twin bed arrangement has proved more desirable to our guests as well as a more optimum use of the room space. We appreciate your understanding. We are very happy to know that you enjoyed your stay with us nonetheless and found our corner of Venezia so delightful. Best wishes!

"Absolute perfection"

Stayed here with another couple and we really couldn't have found a better place. The apartment had everything we needed for dining in, or going out. The local agent who met us was very friendly and helpful - the owner, Jackie, was always available to answer our many questions. Gave us excellent recommendations for local restaurants and things to do. Inside the apartment is charming and light, richly decorated and beautifully appointed.
The location is absolute perfection because you are away from the horrible crowds of San Marco and Rialto, but can walk to either or anywhere else in Venice for that matter within 10-15 minutes. Quiet neighborhood and the private courtyard is FANTASTIC. The passing gondoliers are all friendly and lend to an unbeatable atmosphere. I would recommend this apartment to anyone looking for an extraordinary place to stay. Thank you, Jackie!
