Percheron Cottage is in a group of three delightfully restored former farm buildings furnished to the highest standards. They are constructed around an attractive central communal area. The stables and barn were fully renovated in 2005/6 and each is equipped to provide a relaxing and comfortable holiday. Ample car parking, All the cottages nestle in a valley with views over agricultural land and of the adjoining golf course with glimpses of Dorchester in the distance. Peter and Jo live on site and are on hand to discuss your requirements and help with local amenities. We aim to make your time spent on holiday relaxing and memorable. Ideal location for exploring Dorset on walking, beach or golf holidays. Cottages rental by the week. Change-over Saturday. Short-breaks available by arrangement. All bed-linen included. The West Country / Dorset region
Percheron Cottage is ideal for a self catering cottage holiday. Dorset is close to London and the South-East and has more sunshine and less rain than Devon or Cornwall. The county town on Dorchester is only a mile from the cottage, yet it offers total privacy and quiet.
Dorchester area
Walking Holidays and Beach Holidays- The sea is always close and there are sandy beaches at Studland, Swanage, Weymouth and Lyme Regis, plus many shingle beaches; snorkelling and diving are available off ledges and rocky coves. The South-West Coast Path allows you to walk on unspoiled coastline from Poole to Lyme Regis; inland there are 3000 miles of footpaths, so you can walk in beautiful countryside from each holiday cottage. Golf. The cottage adjoins an 18 hole golf course and there are several others within easy driving distance.

One mile north of Dorchester close to the village of Charminster. Situated next to the Warfdale Golf Club.

Further details indoors: Percheron Cottage is one of three barns built in 1900. They share a central courtyard with a large raised unfenced pond. Recently converted to a very high standard with good quality wood flooring throughout, the barn is surrounded by fields and very close to Charminster Golf Club (open to non-members). It has a very large garden with decked terrace and flat lawn, the remainder rises steeply with a field beyond. Ample parking. Shop ½ mile; Pub 1 mile. Accommodation: Enter into large Hall with hooks for coats; WC; spacious Twin Bedroom with en suite wet room (suitable for disabled, with emergency pull cord); large, well equipped Kitchen/Dining Room with dishwasher; Sitting Room, satelite TV (free to air channels only) and recessed flame affect fire; Conservatory with access to garden. Upstairs: 3 Bedrooms; main double with en suite bathroom (an enormous bath plus his & hers basins), second double with en suite bathroom (with bath) and a twin with cd player; Bathroom (corner shower). Oil fired central heating and electric fire.
Further details outdoors: Set on the edge of the attractive village of Charminster on the River Frome with a fine church, shops and pubs. Just outside the historic county town of Dorchester which has a wide variety of shops, cafes and restaurants. Ideally situated to explore the 25 miles of World Heritage Coastline only 9 miles away. Discover Thomas Hardy´s Wessex by following the many footpaths that cross the Dorset countryside. Cycle along the country roads and enjoy hospitality in the local village inns. Play golf on the adjoining course. No handicap is required and clubs and buggies can be hired. Weymouth, host to the Olympic sailing events in 2012, is only a short distance away. The town offers sandy beaches, sailing, fishing trips and a wide variety of shopping.
