The Aquitaine/Dordogne region

The region of the Dordogne is incomparably rich in all the ingredients for a good holiday – uncluttered landscapes, empty country lanes, clean rivers, good regional cuisine, and picturesque villages.

The scenery is pure delight. The undulating countryside is dotted with majestic chateaux, mostly built for defense over the many decades of war that ravaged this land in times past. Superb trees and wild flowers line the hundreds of byways enticing the visitor off the main roads for a somnolent amble through the countryside.
