Welcome to Au Coeur de Domme - our hidden paradise in the gorgeous bastide town of Domme.

Our cottage is located in the heart of the beautiful 700 year old bastide town of Domme. Conveniently located for accessing the shops and restaurants of nearby Sarlat (just a 10 minute drive), Domme is also the perfect gateway to many of the Dordogne's tourist sites, including La Roque Gageac, Beynac Castle and Sarlat. Regardless of your tastes, you will never be left without something to do. Of course, you can also simply relax and stroll around the town, marvelling at the beauty of the town and its unsurpassed views of the valley and surrounding countryside.

Our lovely holiday home has been decorated to the highest of standards with fine furniture, bedding and kitchen appliances to make this holiday home your home away from home. The gite includes a flatscreen television with UK cable television for over 25 accessible channels, high speed internet, great lighting for nightly reading or dozing off on the lounge, a mixed array of interesting books for you to enjoy, boardgames and naturally top quality bedding, linen and bath towels.

The kitchen is stocked with a ‘welcome pack’ to get you off on a flying start with washing machine liquid, cleaning products, herbs/spices/oils, butter, milk and bread. Our aim as always to make you feel right at home during your stay and we are happy to provide any other items as requested at a small extra cost to help you get started.

The master bedroom is positioned amongst the rafters in the loft with heavy wooden beams plus a view overlooking the square. An extremely comfortable queen size bed and great reading lights make this room the perfect evening retreat. A bathroom is also located upstairs next to the bedroom.

The second bedroom is located just off the main living area with 2 single beds making this ideal for travelling friends (2 couples) or a children’s room.

The real feature of the house is the large main living room with its glorious fireplace, cathedral windows and rich, yellow stone walls. The perfect place for enjoying the meal you've just prepared from local ingredients or simply relaxing over a glass of one of the region's delightful wines.

"Wonderful Holiday"

My friend and I stayed in February which was the lowest of the low season, but we still had a wonderful time. The house nicely warmed up with a stove fire place that the property manager had thoughtfu… More

"Perfect base to explore Dorgogne"

Beautiful house in the middle of Domme.

Literally 30 seconds walk from restaurants. Although in the town itself, it retains its privacy and has a garden you can more than comfortably relax in with a decent bottle of French wine.
If you are the adventurous sort - Domme is a perfect, central location for the Dordogne.

A fantastic experience.

"Gem of a house in the centre of Domme"

I have stayed in dozens of gites throughout France and this is the best one yet. It's location is superb, being right in the centre of Domme (one of the beautiful hilltop bastides in the centre of the Dordogne). Unusually for a centrally located gite, it also has its own private parking space - a must for us as we had driven down from England.
There are several good restaurants within a few hundred yards, including a very good eatery right across the square from the house.
The gite benefits from a British owner along with English managers who meet and greet once you arrive. This proved very convenient and helped make the occupation of the gite seamless (we have experienced some stress previously with language difficulties due to non English speaking owners).
The house is old yet
+beautiful and very well equipped. Very high end bathrooms with lots of quality towels. Large kitchen with everything you could think of needing. A starter pack was included which was very useful as we had landed on a bank holiday weekend (thanks especially for the wine!) The main bedroom was really comfortable, provided with a fan which came in useful on an unusually hot week in mid June. The tiling of the floors and walls throughout is exceptional and we got the general impression that a lot had been spent on the gite, it was all very tasteful.
We had free wi fi which worked perfectly and a flat screen television with British TV.
The outside area has just been refurbished and the photos simply don't do it any justice at all. The area is large and encompasses the full length and one side of the house. It has high end rattan outdoor furniture along with a coffee table and chairs and the sun is on the area somewhere or other, all day. It is very private and has a lovely touch of jasmine planted around the walls by the seating area. The banana tree in the photos has been removed and bright stone chip has been laid, making the outside much brighter and very welcoming.

Beautiful old house in centre of Domme surrounded by cafes, restaurants and shops etc.
Close to all the sights in the Dordogne area and a great place to relax and enjoy.
Only minor issue may be that because of the centre location adjacent to town's car park you do hear some noise from tourists arriving early in the morning if you are trying to sleep in.
Otherwise everything is good.

"A perfect rental in a beautiful town."

Au Couer de Domme was a perfect place to spend a relaxing week in the gorgeous Dordogne region of France. It is centrally loathed in the area --- close to all the major attractions. The place is very comfortable with the two bed areas and bathrooms being a real plus. We will definitely be returning to this rental
