This is a traditional farmhouse loacted in the small village of St Fraimbault, near to Domfront. It is a 200-year-old farmhouse, but has recently been renovated to include all modern appliances whilst still keeping some orignal features, such as the exposed beams. There is a large dining table in the kitchen area with a wood burner, as well as a terrace with a BBQ which can be used as an outside dining area.
The property has a bathroom with a toilet, shower and bath, as well as an en-suite with a toilet and shower. The property also has a dishwasher, washing machine, clothes dryer, cooker, microwave, fridge, freezer, TV and DVD player. There is a large private garden with a boules court which is ideal for large groups in the summer.
This property is perfect for large groups hoping for a quiet holiday in the countryside, whilst also being in close proximity to many picturesque and interesting towns which are ideal for day trips. St Fraimbault itself has a few small shops, a good restaurant and a bar. There is a large lake which you can walk around, as well as pedalos in the summer. There is also an open-air swimming pool nearby which is open in the summer.

The Normandy / Orne region
Normandy is a picturesque and traditional area of France with many castles and other places of interest. It is generally warm and sunny during the summer months, although the winter climate is similar to that of the UK. Le Mont St Michel is a stunning place to visit, and although it is quite a long journey from the house, it shouldn't be missed.
Similarly, the beach and walled town of St Malo provides an excellent day trip. However, for bigger shops, Rennes is definitely the best shopping town nearby. Also, for those interested in history, the D-day landing beaches on the Normandy coast provide an interesting day out.
Domfront / St Fraimbault area
In the village of St Fraimbault there is a lake which is very nice to walk around, as well as pedalos on the lake in the summer. Bagnoles de'Lorne is a town full of character which has a lake with pedalos as well as many shops, bars, restaurants and an open-air swimming pool which is open in the summer.
This is situated just 30km away. The castle at Fougeres is excellent for a day trip out. In Saint-Loup-du-Gast, just 19km away, there is a velo-rail, which is an exciting way to see some beautiful countryside around the area. This is a fun activity for both children and adults to enjoy.
How to get there
Brittany Ferries go from Poole to Cherbourg, Portsmouth to Cherbourg and Portsmouth to Caen. Caen is only 110km from the house and Cherbourg is 170km away. http://www.brittanyferries.com/ The roads between Caen and St Fraimbault are good, and this journey can be done in about 1 hour and 45 minutes.
The nearest airport is Rennes, which is 95km away. Flybe offers cheap flights to Rennes from Dublin, Edinburgh, Glasgow, Manchester, Newcastle and Southampton, amongst other smaller airports. http://www.flybe.com/

There is a separate utility room which has a washing machine and clothes dryer. The lounge can seat 9, and there is a TV with a DVD player here as well.
