Home description
Apartment Ulivi, nicely located in Domaso near Gravedona, is the perfect place to appreciate the full beauty of the Lake of Como. In fact, there is nothing better than enjoying the breathtaking view directly from the sunny terrace of the apartment or, alternatively, from the spacious swimming pool in the garden. The terrace is the most gorgeous spot to sip a glass of traditional Italian wine. At sunset then, you have the impression that the lake is toasting with you directly in the house! Coming to the inside of the house, the apartment( 100 m2) is accurately furnished with a modern style: you are welcomed by a spacious living room (sofa bed, satTV) and a fully equipped open kitchen (four burners, oven, dishwasher, freezer, washing machine). Stairs will lead you up to the attic with a double room and a twin bedded room. Two bathrooms with shower, another terrace on the back of the apartment and private parking for two cars complete the house. Apartment Ulivi is the place to be also if you play golf. You would love the golf course of Menaggio, the oldest course in Italy which this year will celebrate a century, where you can play golf also with the owner of apartment, or with George Clooney if you are lucky! In Domaso then you can practise water sports or sunbathing on nice public beaches. Restaurants, pubs and shops are on easy reach.

The Lombardy / Lake Como Area
Lake Como, the most beautiful of all the Italian lakes, the deepest in Europe, is 50 km long. It is an oasis of tranquillity surrounded by Mediterranean bushes and snowy Alpine peaks. Its charme comes both from the small fishing villages on the shore and from the surrounding mountains. The villages have shores with small gravel beaches, pleasant harbours and water sport areas for windsurfing, sailing and water skiing, whilst the valleys are good for walking, hiking, mountain biking, and in winter for skiing. The slopes of St Moritz, San Bernardino, Madesimo, Gotthard are within an easy reach. Summer should be dedicated to golf, swimming, sailing and all watersports. Lake Como for centuries attracted visitors, including important statesmen, artists and writers, and its openness to “VIP” has recently been confirmed by the presence almost all year around, of George Clooney, Donatella Versace, Elton John, Madonna just to say some names… who have decided to make this area their own private paradise. But if you are not into VIP-watching, no worry, the relax-lovers can enjoy the recommended excursions to Como ( 50 km), Milan (90 km), and Lugano ( 45 km) and the shop-aholics will soon love the designer fashion factory outlets near Como and the Swiss border. If you are curious and like lingering in the sun, you can choose between a visit to the traditional museum with a collection of over 100 boats from the 18th century in Pianello del Lario, or a car ride to stunning villas like Villa del Balbianello, Villa Melzi, Villa Serbelloni. You won’t have time to get bored on the Lake of Como!
Domaso area
Domaso is an ancient fisherman village located on the north- western shores of lake Como. It is a paradise for windsurfers and sailors who enjoy the lake all year around thanks to Breva, the wind blowing on the lake from March to October which guarantees together with Tivano, a mild climate. For windsurf-lovers two of the best European schools are located here.
Domaso is also a starting point for day trips to picturesque villages that can be reached by car or boat; Menaggio is 20 minutes far, a lovely place for walking around, shopping, or tasting real Italian gelato. Bellagio is approachable by ferry (“battello”), and in just an hour you are in Como or Lugano.
For mountain lovers there are walks through small and sunny villages

Guestbook for Ulivi
Dear Lucia Lovely apartment, well equipped, fantastic view. Lovely owners who wanted to look after us. We really enjoyed being at Lake Como and found plenty to do.The price was fair for high season. Kind regards John Jaques
Dear Lucia, We thought the apartment was beautiful, with magnificent views. The space and layout were very comfortable for three of us. I am not sure I would want to have more than 4 people there. The swimming pool was very nice as it was so new. The beds were comfortable, and the bathroom very good, especially the shower. Having a washing machine was great. I think the price of the apartment was competitive and good value for money. The position of the apartment was very convenient, especially as we did not have a car. Once we discovered the back road into Domaso the walk was very pleasant. Arriving by boat was the best way to arrive. The owners were extremely kind to pick us up from the boat with our luggage. They were even more kind to take us back again at the end of our holiday. Kind regards, John Schmitz
We enjoyed staying at your apartment. The Apartment is beautiful and has everything a holiday ho,e should have. The appliances were all good especially the Washing machine! It was big enough for the five of us. Everything worked well. We thought the view was beautiful. The swimming pool is excellent and well maintained. The village has all that you need for a good holiday. A good selection of shops and a nice evening market. The road was very busy so we did not walk into the village even though it was close. The people in the village were very friendly. The owners of the apartment are good people. They met us and explained where everything was. They were very friendly and welcoming. They arranged a welcome pack to get us started too. I travel all over the world for work and stay in a lot of places. This was one of the best places I have visited and it made for a great family holiday, we would happily recommend it to anyone. Best Wishes. John and family.
Hi Lucia, Sorry for contacting you so late but had work straight after I came back from Italy then 4 days in London with a friend then back to work now for 2 whole weeks ..... sigh!!! I just wanted to say what a lovely apartment. It was much better than I imagined. It was so spacious, very well equipped and very clean. The owners were so kind and friendly and the bottle of wine to greet us was very much appreciated after our long journey..... a very nice touch. We spent alot of time on the balcony in between our trips out. We never tired of the view and even the very noisy motorbikes did not spoil it for us. Domaso, Gravedona and surrounding villages were all beautiful with lovely restaurants. I have been on many holidays but never wanted to live there until now. I love the lake, the scenery, the buildings, the people ..... everything. I just need a millionaire (who is not too fussy.... I'm no model!!) to marry and I'll move there tomorrow. We want to go back but next time perhaps stay half way as we didn't get a chance to do the south sides of the lake. Please also could you kindly pass on my sincere thanks to the owners for keeping up such a lovely place. Because of the language barrier I could not express properly my gratitude. Kind Regards Shahida
