Our cozy genuine Norwegian log cabin is fully equipped with everything you need for a carefree, self catering family holiday.
In the heart of the Snowdonia National Park, set on a hillside among mature trees with breath taking scenery and views over the Rhinog Mountains. It is the perfect place for that 'get away from it all' break.
You are welcome to bring your dog, however a Welsh by-law imposed by Snowdonia National Park limits pets to ONE PET PER CABIN.,
There is a designated dog walking area on the park, otherwise, your dog should be kept on a lead at all times.
There is a children's play area just over the lane from the cabin, which has swings, a climbing frame, goal posts, baseball net and picnic benches. The park is also relativity car free so makes a perfect haven for children to make new friends and explore on their bikes.
The cabin is situated on the picturesque Trawsfynydd Holiday Village off the A470 at Bronaber and is within easy reach of all local amenities and attractions, Including Criccieth Beach and Castle, visit The Blue China Tea Shop for a snack. Porthmadog with an Aldi, Lidl and a 24 hr Tesco and The Ffestiniogg Railway. Barmouth, with shops, pubs and restaurants for the grown-up's and a traditional sea-side beach front for children, with cafes, ice cream parlors and a children's fun fair, and miles of uncrowded sandy beaches, just a roughly a
30 min. car ride away, The perfect place to take the kids for a day out.
With lots more to do out and about, whether it be walking, fishing or Mountain Biking (Coed y Brenin Forest and Go Ape are just a quarter of a mile down the road.) White water rafting, and quad biking,to name just a few, or just a peaceful relaxing break away. No matter what you want to do, there is something for every one.
The Rhiw Goch pub and restaurant is just a short walk from the cabin. This age old pub has a warm welcome and is full of atmosphere. Serving an excellent meal, including a very good T.bone steak. Ideal for that special occasion or romantic evening out.
There is a children's play area and outside seating with fabulous uninterrupted views over the Rhinog Mountains. It is, however, very popular at weekends and Bank Holidays including Christmas and New Year (with a New Year's Eve party celebration.) so you are advised to book in advance to avoid disappointment. There is also a take-away and delivery menu in the welcome pack in the cabin.
rhiw goch inn The Rhiw Goch was originally built as a farmhouse in the 12th Century (before Harlech Castle).
Being a country place of importance, it was the home of the local M.P and High Sheriff of Meirionnydd in the mid 1500's. As well as being one of the big farms, it was the local Court House.
In 1610 Henry Prince of Wales spent several nights here.

Dining area and fully equipped kitchen, Two bedrooms one with a double bed and one with fitted bunk beds (which sleep adults and children alike) both with heating and storage. "Great relaxing week"
We had a great stay in this log cabin during the first half of May this year, our then six month old son's first holiday. We tended to drive each day to a different town either on the coast or in the mountains - stunning part of the world. Harlech, Crieccieth, Dolgellau, Bala, Aberdovey - all great for a coffee and a slice of cake, a walk round and some lunch. We had some great lunches overlooking the sea. The holiday village (and the area in general) was very quiet through the early season week we were there, but the manned reception and shop were open throughout. The little one enjoyed the children's play area. Next time I'm getting a round of golf in as we passed some lovely looking links courses! Cabin was great… we enjoyed having a drink on the balcony as the sun set… then retiring inside and watching the Indian Premier League cricket on the telly! We cooked every night - cupboards contained everything we needed and there are good supermarkets at Porthmadog. Great week, thanks.
Thank you for you great review. We are so pleased you had such a great time and managed to get out and about to so many places. We would be delighted to welcome you back anytime.

"Lovely accommodation with stunning views"
I recently took my wife here for her birthday and brought along our 7 month old puppy. We had a very relaxing stay and the lodge was very cosy and my wife loved it. The views from the veranda where stunning and the place was very peaceful. We managed to fit in a trip to Barmouth and Betws-y-Coed which were both not too far away and our puppy had the time of his life. I immediately recommended this to my neighbour and would recommend it to anyone looking to get away from it all for a few days and enjoy some amazing scenery and a very relaxed and peaceful atmosphere. The owners were very helpful prior to our stay and we will definitely be going back soon.
Thank you for such a great review. It is good to receive such positive feed back, and to hear that you had such a great time.
We look forward to welcoming you back soon.

"a home from home"
spent the new year here with my partner and a baby and toddler, the cabin was cosy and completely walm during a very cold spell, there was a play area for children and an on site shop, the local resteraunt /bar is a 10 min walk away and was very relaxing, situated a short drive from Portmadog and Barmouth for the coast and beaches and a short drive to Snowdon/freindly staff but not intrusive, would whole heartedly recommend.
Thank you for your positive comments. We are so pleased you enjoyed your stay and New Year in our cabin. It is our holiday home too, so we do try to make it as comfortable and as welcoming as we can. Hope to see you again, soon.
Very Best Wishes

"dissappointed with cleanliness of cabin"
First impression before entering cabin, nice view, pathway to cabin a bit narrow, when I entered the cabin horror. The white cupboard doors were heat damaged, the cabin was not clean enough, dirt and … More
WE are so sorry you were disappointed with our cabin. Firstly the path leading up to the cabin is beyond our control as that land belongs to the site. As for the kitchen cabinet door being heat damaged, due to the lack of space there is no other electric socket the kettle can go into, thus the heat of the steam when the kettle boils has unfortunately damaged the door. We have tried to repair it best we can.
Lastly, you are the first person to mention the cleanliness of the cabin. We do have an arrangement with the site that a clean is completed after every guest, we shall of course be taking your complaint up with them as they charge us for this service.
