This fabulous waterfront 2 bedroom property, ground floor of old stone house has been completely renovated and refurbished to the highest western standards. It is only 5 metres from the glistening Adriatic sea and has its own punta for a boat. It is only a beautiful 8 min walk along the bay, past the boats and yachts to the amazing historical old town of Kotor, and you will immediately see why it is a UNESCO world heritage site.
The property features old stone throughout. There is a fantastic large gated sun terrace, partially shaded by a kiwi vine in the day and fully lit at night for those family evening meals, get together and of course entertaining friends. Listen to the enchanting sound of the sea as you barbecue.
Apartment purchased by us for our young family, because of the location, the people and the pace of life. Originally we were only considering purchasing in Montenegro purely for investment, but when we saw this, we immediately fell in love. Trust us, seeing is believing!
Only 5 metres to the sea in front of the apartment with ideal swimming areas for children as well as adults. Dobrota has the most hours of sun on the bay, ideal for those evening swims and then back to the terrace for a refreshing drink!

This property is gated and has a large terrace to the front and a beautiful garden to the rear. We have two young children of our own and the property is ideally suited to them.
Tables and chairs on the terrace, as this is where the family will spend most of the time over the late spring, summer.
Fabulous terrace area at the front of the property with tables and chairs. This is where all meals and entertaining occurs from April to October, within 5 metres of the Adriatic sea. Kiwi vine covers this area and you can harvest the kiwis yourself. Beautiful garden to the rear, with lemons pomegranates and oranges.
The property will be cleaned prior to arrival.
Towels and linen are included at the commencment of your stay, A change of linen and towels can be arranged with my agent, but the fee for the extra linen and towel change has to be paid by the guest to my agent. The cost of the extra linen and towels is to be borne by the guest.
Our agent locally is a native English speaker.
The Kotor Municipality region
Montenegro is located in South-Eastern Europe. It used to be a well known tourist destination in the 1970's - 1980's however, due to the war, its tourist industry ceased and only recently picked up again. The world famous Sveti Stefan, which was the playground of the rich and famous in the 1970s, including Richad Burton, Elizibeth Taylor, Brigitte Bardot etc, is approximately 20 to 25 min drive away. Its culture is shaped by a variety of influences throughout history.
Montenegro has numerous cultural and historical sites, including heritage sites which are all well worth a visit.
Dobrota is one of the most beautiful locations on the bay and we are ony mins walk to the old town. There are beautiful restaurants, especially for seafood lovers, with fresh produce caught that day. Kotor Old Town approx 8 mins walk away along the bay. Budva and Beccici approx 15 to 20 mins drive away.
Very well known Ellas restaurant only a min walk away. Local bakery and supermarket approx 2 mins away. Banks in Kotor Old Town. A number of marinas, yacht hire and sailing lessons within mins. Also there are diving schools only mins away. Other restaurants dotted along the seafront.
Within the walls of the old town there are many excellent restaurants and coffee shops. You can spend many hours discoverng all the historical treasures within the old town. Having been ruled by the Venetians for a period, it is very similar to walking through parts of Venice, with is Cathederals palaces etc etc.

"Unique Views ,Homely property, Friendly locals,"
I stayed here in April of this year. I enjoyed my week stay ,starting from the amazing journey from the airport to House , taking in the wonderful mountain and sea views. An area which hasn't changed much in a few hunderd years but still has the availability of any modern need which you may want. The property is nestled in beautifully at the foot of the mountain with the sea an extension of your front garden . Having the stunning old town only 15mins walk away. The property has been masterfully restored back to its orginal state with all the mod cons. I highly recommend this holiday destination to you!

Amazing,Tranquil, Relaxing Holiday Just what we needed. Perfect setting waking up every morning to the water only feet from your door.The casual stroll to the local bakery for breakfast croissants , sitting on the waters edge drinking morning coffee and fresh croissants....Fabulous. Ideal for anyone who wants a chilled out holiday. Great food, nice wine , stunning views with lots of well preserved medieval Architecture. (no need for taxis can walk everywhere) Forget about the impersonal 5 Star hotels you will get more out of a one nights stay here than a week in a big brand name Hotel. Can't wait to go back in 2012

"Great holiday apartment"
A great apartment in a very nice, peaceful location. Apartment facilities are ideal if you want to cook in the evening or have a bbq on the terrace. We really enjoyed a week's stay here and will definitely be coming back for another holiday. The old town is well worth a visit for the restaurants and coffee shops. Very unspoilt and not too touristy.

"Amazing, definitely coming back"
My friend and I had a really relaxing holiday in Montenegro. The Old Captains apartment was very nice and was tidy and clean on arrival. It was also in a good location, close to nice restaurants and the beach. Scenery around the area are very beautiful. Good value for money.

"A beautiful location and great apartment, the perfect antidote to purpose built resorts"
My boyfriend and I were looking for a week's holiday in a beautiful destination with great weather in September. We wanted to avoid purpose built resorts like Magaluf and Torremelinos and this property in Montenegro was perfect. The apartment was delightful, with a gorgeous courtyard where we would sit in the evening drinking wine. The town of Kotor was delightful and felt very unspoilt with lots of lovely restaurants. The sea was right in front of the apartment. And even in mid September the weather was amazing. I would absolutely recommend the Old Captain's House to couples and it would be great for families too.

"Very enjoyable and relaxing holiday"
Having read previous review we didn't know what to expect,so when we arrived to a lovely quaint apartment we were thrilled. We loved the patio area at the front where we had breakfast each morning and indeed there were cats but we enjoyed watching their antics.There are wild cats everywhere and the owner can't be held responsible for them ..... just chill out....we did! The location is spectacular and views stunning. A lady was waiting for us on arrival with the key and showed us around and we were very pleased with the layout and cleanliness. All in all we had no complaints and had a lovely week. Hopefully we will be back.

"Dirty and smelly"
We simply wanted a place with views of the sea and to sit and chill while the kids swam. We emailed the owner to ask if this was the case and were told that it was. Well, maybe it was a couple of years ago, but the overgrown jungle at the front of the property meant that we saw (and smelled) nothing other than the bucket-loads of cat poo all over the part of the large patio that was given over to jungly undergrowth. Truly vile. The bathroom was windowless and had a panel missing from in front of the shower. The smell of sewage was disgusting. The "sheets" weren't large enough to cover the bed in one case and there was a large blood stain on the mattress. We had to run out and buy a sheet to cover this. Truly revolting. There was no offer to change our sheets or towels for 2 weeks. The property was the dirtiest I have ever stayed at. There were only 2 deck chairs. We were a family of 4. Unbelievable. We found some ancient plastic chairs down the side of the property which we cleaned up as best we could but it was really not good enough. Dobrota stank of sewage. I cannot describe what it was like to sit in a restaurant on the edge of such a beautiful place and to be so overcome with sewage fumes that it was impossible to eat. This was a dreadfully disappointing holiday. Complete waste of money.
