Home description
Self catering Holiday cottages, situated in the Waveney valley on the Suffolk Norfolk Borders. The cottages date back to the 17th Century, grade 2 listed, and once part of an old coaching inn and ale house, we renovated the cottages several years ago, and have retained the olde world charm keeping the beams, and inglenooks, all our cottages are cosy and comfortable ,very well equipped and furnished , making them more like homes and not just holiday cottages. The 2 acres of garden and woodland lead down to the river waveney, fishing is available in season. You can walk amongst the trees that we have planted over the years making a wildlife wonderland; springtime is especially a beautiful time, when you can see the snow drops, daffodil and bluebells amongst the woodland. You can sit back relax and enjoy the Swans, Ducks, Kingfishers, Heron, woodpeckers, Barn owls that are becoming more and more common in the waveney valley , if your lucky and sit long enough you may even see the Otters that have been released over the past few years by the Earsham otter trust, or just enjoy feeding the fish, and watch them jump. On warm sunny days it's wonderful to picnic, and catch the cool breeze.
At Christmas we decorate our cottages, inside and out, with Christmas tree and decorations, which adds to the warm and cosy atmosphere. Pump cottage has a wood burner to add to the warmth.

Gems are hard to find, but we have found one here, so we will be back. Greta & George
Our stay here was really great, It's much nicer here than we could ever have imagined. We enjoyed our walks down to the river and feeding the ducks and the daffodils are beautiful. If we ever find ourselves in this part of the world again we will surely return to this cottage. The Cranmore family Alberta,
Wow what a week ! I write on behalf of the family and myself to say that we were all absolutely stunned by the accommodation, the gardens ,the flower pots and especially the superb walk down to the river. An idylic spot on a quiet warm summer evening, watching the ducks, feeding the swans, he was like an old friend by the last day, and just listening to the trickle fo the river and the occassional splash made by one of the many fish. The whole setting of the holiday accommodation was both beautiful and peaceful, we couldn't have wished for a more tranquil, charming, well equipped cottage. Richard Cathy
Our 4th visit and as usual thoroughly enjoyable. The decorations both inside and outside were lovely and we especially liked santa coming down the chimney in our fireplace. Thank you for making this a special christmas for us.
Dianne Kevin family
