Bluebell contains a double bedroom, large bathroom (with bath and shower), kitchen with hob, oven, fridge, toaster, kettle and microwave. A laundry service is available upon request. The open plan living and dining area has 2 sofas, one of which opens to a double bed (sleeps 2-4 people); flat screen TV with free sat, DVD player, CD player with iPod dock, wi-fi internet, bedding and towels included, cots available on request and a free welcome pack on arrival. There is ample car parking, electric gates and CCTV for peace of mind security. Bluebell is non-smoking. An original cobbled terrace, picnic tables and BBQ overlook the river for a quiet evening in. Relax in our purpose built spa! Our spa is open to residents of the cottages and the owners. The area includes non-chlorine hot tub (Active Oxygen), infa-red colour therapy sauna, aromatherapy steam room, cold mist shower. thermo-static shower, WC and changing facilities. Chill out after a long day out in our tranquil spa area or for an extra treat, holistic therapies may be booked in advance or on arrival with our freelance therapists. There are many places to visit; walkers, cyclists, wildlife lovers and historians will find many interesting places in the local area. Welcome pack on arrival including organic loaf, organic free range eggs, home made jam, organic butter, selection of drinks, and basic cleaning items.

Information about the cottages and local places to visit can be found in a guest information guide within the cottage, we also provide walking maps of the local area and a brochure of SPA therapies that are available. These include facials, massage, reiki, hypnotherapy, manicures, pedicure and a traditional "Savon Noir" black soap treatment. The treatments can be done in the privacy of your cottage or in the SPA area, whatever you prefer! All of our products are natural or organic in origin

Further details outdoors

The cottage forms part of a working livery yard (Lower Dale Farm Equestrian Centre) and there are 29 horses on the farm. You can book a riding lesson or for those more experienced book a private hack out into the local countryside, we have many bridleways in the area and the Equestrian Centre has top class facilities including dressage and express eventing. We are also highly commended with the British Horse Society.

The Heart of England/Peak District

The Peak District is an upland area in central and northern England, lying mainly in northern Derbyshire, but also covering parts of Cheshire, Greater Manchester, Staffordshire, and South and West Yorkshire.

An area of great diversity, it is conventionally split into the northern Dark Peak, where most of the moorland is found and whose geology is gritstone, and the southern White Peak, where most of the population lives and where the geology is mainly limestone-based.

Most of the area falls within the Peak District National Park, whose designation in 1951 made it the first national park in the United Kingdom. Proximity to the major cities of Manchester and Sheffield and the counties of Lancashire, Greater Manchester, Cheshire, Staffordshire and South and West Yorkshire, coupled with easy access by road and rail, have contributed to its popularity. With an estimated 22 million visitors per year, the Peak District is thought to be the second most-visited national park in the world (after the Mount Fuji National Park in Japan).

Disley

The District of Marple is situated in the South East corner of Greater Manchester in the United Kingdom. It adjoins the Cheshire/Derbyshire boundary and includes the "villages" of Marple, Mellor, Hawk Green, High Lane, Marple Bridge, Moor End, Strines and the hamlet of Mill Brow. The District covers just over 11 square miles of attractive countryside, ranging from heavily wooded valleys to hill-top moorland. It rises from around 300ft above sea level at the lowest point on the River Goyt to just over 1000ft at Cobden Edge. On a clear day it is possible to view the four counties of Cheshire, Derbyshire, Lancashire and Yorkshire from the top of these hills. The Peak District countryside surrounding Marple offers many pleasant walks and rambles, there being 66 mile of public footpaths in the Urban District alone.

The River Goyt flows though the District from south to north, meeting its tributary the River Etherow at a point near Compstall, appropriately named "Water Meetings". It then flows down through Marple Dale and on towards Stockport where it becomes the River Mersey at its confluence with the river Tame under the M60 at Portwood. Manchester Canoe Club, founded in 1933, have their own site on the River Goyt in Marple and regularly hold slalom competitions and river races there.
