About the home

New House, built in 2009 with bright airy decor. Open plan design for sitting & kitchen-dining room with high ceiling and cream porcelain tiling on floors of living areas with oak floors in sitting room and bedrooms.. Comfortable seating to relax with satellite TV or just to enjoy the heavenly views of ocean and mountains. This house has a superb location with sea views to Muiroch Beach at the front and mountains views to the back.

Walk out the front door and a few more steps to Muirioch Beach and take in the lovely scenery of Smerwick Harbour in the most peaceful environment in Europe. Patio doors from the dining area lead to a paved area with the soothing sounds of your own stream. Table, chairs and parasol are provided for your enjoyment.

Muirioch Beach

The County Kerry region

Shops, traditional pubs and restaurants, galleries and craft workshops are all nearby. The area around Dingle is known for its range of restaurants to suit all pockets. Within a short walking distance of the house in Muirioch are several sites of historical interest such as Kilmakeadar, a a 12th century Church, and Gallarus Oratory, a place of early Christian worship that dates from possibly the sixth century but is still in almost perfect condition. The stone beehive huts along the Slea head drive show us how early Christian monks lived.

The view from the sitting-room is of the long sandy beach of Smerwick harbour, and on your beach walk you will see why this area is a favourite for bird-watchers. Indeed nature puts on her loveliest display in this area, and artists delight in capturing the vivid colours of the fuchsia and montbretia that grow lavishly on the peninsula.

The Dingle / Ballydavid area

Call to Begley's pub, 1km from the house, to hear the Irish language spoken, and traditional music played.
Call to Dunquin pier nearby, to take a ferry to visit one of the Blasket Islands, famous for their raw beauty.
Drive or cycle around Slea head for unparalleled views, and stop at one of the many roadside restaurants or cafes to drink in the scenery.

The property is located eight Kilometres from Dingle, and one hour from Kerry airport. It has a fabulous almost beachfront location with sea views and mountain views. The village of Ballydavid with its restaurants and pubs is one kilometer away. Gallorus Oratory with its Ogham stones and Beehive huts is also nearby
