The County Kerry region
Dingle is one of the most delightful towns in Ireland. It is where Irish people choose to go when they holiday in there own country. It has an intoxicating mix of stunning natural beauty with huge cultural heritage .It is one of the last places in Ireland where our native language Gaelic is spoken on a daily basis and where the schools our children attend are taught fully in Gaelic. It is also the best place in Ireland to experience Irish traditional music with traditional music sessions still an impromtu part of pub life here.
Dingle Town is the heart and soul of the Dingle Peninsula. Once cited as 'the most beautiful place on earth' by the National Geographic, it was voted among the top 100 destinations in the world by Trip Advisor, CNN recently recommended it as a very favourable winter destination, it is listed as one of the top 10 places to be on New Year's Eve - all of these accolades refer to County Kerry's stunningly beautiful Dingle Peninsula.
This poem written by Niall O'Connor over 100 years ago speaks for itself:
'I find the fellowship, of myself here
and all who have gone before me.
in this holy, West of Dingle peninsula
I find the same landscape
is cradle and grave,
knows the brooding, and the gathering,
the harvest, and the beach comb,
the storm, and its aftermath.
Lives like candle flames
shelter behind stone walls
from the onslaught;
each man rediscovers his own cave,
where he is companion to himself,
and only what he can carry.'
The house is located in the oldest part of Dingle town with the remnants of the old historic town wall across the road. The house is in a peacefull and residential part of the Main Street . A two minute walk brings you to wonderful old pubs such as Barr na Sráide McCarthy's , Currans, Foxy Johns and Dick Macks. or to magnificient seafood restaurants such as Global Village, The Half Door and Fentons amongst many others .

Thank you Jeremy for your thoughtful review and I'm delighted you enjoyed your trip. The door lock is a common mechanism in Ireland (the handle has to be rotated upwards to engage triple lock before turning key ) but I will add a note to the welcome folder on its use and check it out fully . Thank you for informing us about the cistern, I will have a plumber check it ASAP. We also love our books so try to keep a varied library for all ages in the house. I hope you can visit again in the future with your family.

"Delightful house to experience this wonderful town."
I loved everything about this house. The location is perfect with everything in this unique town a short walk away. We loved the restaurants and pubs just down the street and coming back to the house after some wonderful nights out felt like coming back to someones luxury home. The house is a very well designed townhouse and is one of the most attractive houses to look at in the town .It doesn't feel like a regular rental house. It is very warm and the open log fire made us slow to go out in the evening. Dingle is a really romantic place to go and this house adds to the romance. We just left the car in the courtyard and walked everywhere.
The king sized master bed is an extra bonus.
