The Brittany region

Our region is extremely attractive, with lots of charm and character, it has the easy to reach both Ferry and Port of St Malo and the International Airport at Dinard. Further a field the ports of Roscoff, Caen and Cherbourg, about 2 hrs drive.

The climate compared with England has warmer summers with longer evenings because of the extra one hour time difference and milder winters.

This gorgeous area of Brittany is most definitely an excellent all year round tourist centre there are many more holiday attractions and beautiful historic places to visit, for those of you who enjoy a day on the beach the choice is endless.

Nearby the very popular Edwardian sea-side resort of Dinard the old picturesque town of St Malo the medieval town of Dinan and and not forgetting the stunning Mont-Saint-Michel

All these are wonderful sandy beaches, fantastic for young children as they are not stoney or rocky. Many have both shower / toilet facilities and beach side refreshments. Many offer watersports activities too.

The Port of St Malo is well worth a visit to stroll around the walled old town with museum and eat at one of the many seafood restaurants. Fascinating aquarium on outskirts of St Malo. "Loved Our Stay"

I have to admit that I was a bit concerned when I read the previous review but I did not need to be worried. This was the perfect place for us and our son. Everyone has an opinion so let me give you mine. Yes, the entry to the building is not great but it really is not that bad. It seems that the bottom floor apartment was flooded earlier in the year and the insurance has not come through yet so the renovations have not started. The building is safe and inhabited.
There were three good restaurants just across the street which were open most days. So if we did not want to cook, then we could easily have steak frites, moules or pizza, etc. The small bar behind the apartment is a lovely place for a coffee or aperitif and he closed early on most nights so there was not much noise. My son slept with the window open! There are trucks going down the main street but with the windows just propped open and the fan going, we slept pretty well and were cool. Plancoet is not a boutique shopping town but a living town and we loved all of the flowers.
The apartment worked extremely well for us. The owners have decorated it nicely and provide many nice touches such as beach toys, a picnic set, Internet, etc. It was so very comfortable. We met the host early on and she gave us a lot of info on the area.
For us, it was a very pleasant stay. Loved the apartment, loved the town, loved the beaches nearby and touring the surrounding area.
