The Brittany region
Brittany has a wonderful Celtic culture and history, with rolling farmland, rugged coastline, beautiful beaches and wonderful towns and villages.
Climate is similar to the English West Country. Mont St Michel, the port of St Malo and the beautiful medieval town of Dinan are nearby, as are countless charming villages, valleys, rivers and woodland, and smaller ports and country houses. There is no shortage of restaurants offering local produce, especially seafood. If you love seafood then the port of Cancale is the place to go.
Dinan is a wonderful medieval walled town filled with charm and character. Cobbled streets, amazing architecture, churches and fantastic views are everywhere.
Check out the Fete des Remparts in August and the weekly market held in the car park every Thursday morning. Corseul is a pretty little village with bars, restaurants, boulangeries and a mimi supermarket. There are interesting ancient ruins nearby.
