The Brittany region
Brittany is an area of breathtaking natural beauty. The long coastline is a seemingly endless succession of rocky headlands, wild cliffs, island studded bays and beautiful sandy beaches. Inland is equally attractive. Castles, historic towns and attractive cottages are sprinkled through the gentle hilly countryside.
Brittany recognises the value of its beautiful environment and protects its heritage of historic buildings and towns. At the same time it has a vibrant social and cultural life with many music events, large and small. A wide variety of other interests are well catered for, including golf, fishing, all sorts of watersports, hiking and cycling. The region is easily accessible from the UK with ferry ports at St Malo , Roscoff or Cherbourg and with Ryanair providing very low cost flights to Dinard.
Situated very close to Dinan, Lehon retains it's own identity and character. Nestling by the river Rance, the town grew up by the 9th Century Abbey and 12th Century Norman Castle, now restored. The riverside path just outside Val Rive leads into tranquil countryside, a perfect place to take a picnic, unwind and watch the wildlife of this unspoilt region. Lehon has an attractive bar and bistro offering traditional French cuisine and a bakery.
An open air heated swimming pool can be found a short walk away and is a great place to visit at any time of the year.
