Home description
This cottage was renovated with luxury and comfort in mind. We have three other holiday cottages on the same grounds that have been renovated from the barns and stables of one of the oldest farms in the village, dating back to the 17th century. All cottages have been awarded a 4 Star rating by the Englist Tourist Board.
Higher Green Farm is well placed to offer a wide range of attractions and activities either on the doorstep or just a short journey away. Devizes is a historic market town with over 500 listed buildings, offering a choice of shops, restaurants, pubs and canal side activities with the Kennet and Avon canal and famous Caen Hill flight of 29 locks.

The Central Southern England / Wiltshire region
Just a short drive will bring you to the World Heritage Sites of Stonehenge, Avebury and Silbury Hill - amongst the world's most important prehistoric locations and Devizes itself is overlooked by Roundway Hill, scene of a major Civil War battle. The stunning Georgian city of Bath with its famous Roman baths and new Thermae Spa and Salisbury with its beautiful cathedral are both within easy reach.
With Longleat Safari Park, the stately home of Bowood House, the gardens of Stourhead and the beautiful villages of Lacock and Castle Coombe all nearby, the local area can cater for all tastes.
Devizes / Poulshot area
Poulshot is a typically quiet and quintessentially English village offering ample opportunity for walking, cycling and horse riding as well as other outdoor pursuits such as clay pigeon shooting, fishing, hot air balloon rides and canal boat hire to name but a few. For those who like to be pampered, health and beauty treatments are available at a nearby converted barn or in the comfort of your own cottage.
Poulshot has its own peaceful village pub offering excellent food and traditional cask ales and you will be able to source a range of fresh produce from local farms.
How to get there
Road Directions: Poulshot in just off the A361 south of Devizes. Higher Green Farm Cottages is situated in the centre of the village opposite The Raven Inn.
Public Transport Directions: Nearest Train Station: Chippenham & Trowbridge From devizes & Trowbridge the No. 49 stops near the village

Further details indoors: The farmhouse style kitchen area has French doors leading out to the courtyard garden. The double bedroom has a kingsize bed and en-suite wetroom. Twin bedded room has two 3ft beds. There is a sofabed in the lounge. The separate bathroom/wc has an over bath shower.

There is level access throughout, all doorways are wide and there is a wetroom in each of the cottages along with a family bathroom
Further details outdoors: The sunny, private courtyard is adjacent to the largest village green in Wiltshire. Poulshot is a quiet, typically English village, with a thriving local community and from here activities such as clay pigeon shooting, hiring a canal boat, horse riding, cycling and walking are available. Within the village itself there are health and beauty treatments available at a converted barn, and farms where local produce can be bought. The village pub serves good home cooked food and serves traditional cask ales. We hope all our guests will enjoy their holiday in this beautiful and picturesque part of the West Country.
