Brounckers Court Farm is a wonderful Georgian Manor House with wonderful views over our farmland and wood. This can be let with The Milk House, our other property close by where we have a 5 star rating. It is within a few minutes of Erlestoke woods, the Salisbury Plain & the Erlestoke 18 hole Golf Club. Stonehenge, Bath, Salisbury & Marlborough are all within 30 minutes. We have furnished it with antique prints, furniture. We have taken a great deal of care to make it supremely comfortable with all the modern conveniences: lighting, WiFi, playstations and everything you could need in a modern kitchen to cook (including two dishwashers for those large house parties) and to entertain yet with a traditional touch. There are three reception rooms, one has a huge open fireplace (we provide the logs) and well stocked library, the other has a boudoir grand piano and wonderful built in log burner in the Georgian fireplace. The dining room comes straight off the hand-built kitchen, we have an extra table so that it can seat up to 14 people, ithas french doors onto the original walled garden, with beautiful gazebo that seats 12 and terrace.

There are four double bedrooms, and two single bedrooms, with plenty of room in each bedroom for cots. On the first floor, there are two double bedrooms, one with an ensuite bathroom, a family bathroom with a bath and shower and two single bedrooms. On the top floor, is a family bathroom, and two very large double bedrooms with a large single bed-sized sofa.

You have a view over our own fields and wood, which have a few cattle and sheep looked after by Tony who is always willing to have a chat and involve you as much or as little as you like. There is a vegetable patch with seasonal produce which you are welcome to pick. You can walk up to the Salisbury Plain through our woods. We have left Ordnance Survey maps in the house.

There are many different walks to do directly from the house. We are next to the Salisbury Plain, the largest area of unspoilt chalk land in Europe. Erlestoke Woods are even closer and no one can miss the carpet of bluebells every spring. We have our own huge vegetable patch where you can pick produce in season right by the cottage and our own eggs from our kaleidescope of home-bred chickens which you are welcome to collect.

The House and buildings were built in the 18th century, and our wood was where the original saxon settlement here was founded, with coins still being found very recently by our neighbours. We are in idyllic surroundings with wonderful views over the edge of the Salisbury Plain. There is so much to do nearby yet it is lovely enough to just relax and do as much or as little as you want.

The Central Southern England region

Wiltshire has so many attactions. The mighty standing stones of Avebury and Stonehenge are within 20 minutes; the medieval city of Salisbury with its magnificent Cathedral is within half an hour, and the cosmopolitan city of Bath is about 30 minutes away. Longleat Safari and Adventure Park is 20 minutes away and Stourhead with its wonderful gardens very close to that. There are many National Trust properties to go and visit, with dozens of historical Houses, Castles and gardens within 40 minutes. With over 6,000 years of history Wiltshire has attractions galore.

Almost half of the county designated an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty Wiltshire has over 8,200 paths for walkers and cyclists. You’ll also find plenty of tea rooms, pubs and restaurants, as well as interestingly different festivals and events throughout the year.

Erlestoke is a beautiful village with its own pub and very helpful garage. The Salisbury Plain is minutes away, and the Erlestoke woods even close.

Devizes is an historic market town with a colourful medieval past. The town enjoys a rich heritage of fine Georgian houses and a 19th century castle built on the site of a Norman stronghold.

Devizes has boasted a castle for a thousand years, during the Middle Ages it was the scene of siege and bloodshed as Queen Matilda fought to keep her English crown.

A fascinating Medieval Trail leaflet chronicles these turbulent events and takes the visitor around the town to points of interest. The Wiltshire Heritage Museum, is home to outstanding collections tracing the history of Wiltshire over the last 6,000 years.

During the 17th century another mighty confrontation took place at Roundway Down, just outside the town, when Royalist forces soundly defeated Cromwell's troops. Today, colourful re-enactments can be enjoyed during the summer months.

When it comes to shopping and eating out Devizes has retained its individuality and offers enchanting cobbled alleyways with specialist retailers, cafes and traditional pubs. Markets abound, both outdoors in the Market Place (market day is Thursday) and indoors at The Shambles.

Wadworth's celebrated brewery remains in its original town location and their brewer's dray drawn by mighty Shire Horses is a regular and much-loved sight on the streets. The brewery has recently opened a Visitor Centre and tours of the site are also offered.

Events throughout the year include the Devizes Festival of arts in June, Devizes International Street Festival in late August, Devizes Carnival in early September, the colourful Food and Drink Festival in July and the Christmas Festival featuring a parade of hundreds of lanterns, held on the last Friday of November.

The Kennet & Avon canal passes through the town and the famous flight of 29 locks are easily accessible on foot and is a wonderful walk.

"A truely wonderful weekend"

Stayed here with my family group + 7month Granddaughter and we had a wonderful weekend together. The house was so welcoming and comfortable it felt like being invited to stay rather than booking a holiday house! There was masses of room so there was always somewhere to pop to if you wanted a bit of space and every amenity to play with or use -- such fun! The gazebo was great for the sun and good for the evening and the last rays of the sun. We had lovely weather and went to Avebury which was interesting, we also flew our kites up on the hearby hillfort next to the White Horse. We walked up to the woods to admire the Primroses and found the swing in the tree, so of course had to have a go. A perfect stay.

"Everything you could wish for"

My friends and I enjoyed a lovely weekend in this beautiful house, despite the chilly March weather - it snowed while we were there, but that made the log fire even more enticing. Although there were only six of us, the house is set up to cater for a much larger group, including small children. On arrival, I was met by a lovely lady who showed me round and explained how everything worked; the kitchen is well-equipped and we had everything we could have possibly needed.

The house is within easy reach of many interesting places for a day out - we enjoyed trips to Salisbury and Lacock Village, for example. I would thoroughly recommend this property.

"Beautiful house for a wonderful getaway with friends and small children"

We had the most fantastic few days at Brounckers Court Farm on a very rainy weekend in February. The house is totally geared up for large groups, super comfortable beds, great big kitchen and dining room and lovely roaring fires. It's also really well equiped for small children - we had three under 4 years old; there were two brand new travel cots, two high chairs and lots of entertainment for little ones in the house and around the farm. We would love to come back in the summer to make the most of the garden! We would also highly recommend the Three Daggers pub which is about a 5 minutes drive from the house - one of the best pub lunches in a long time!
