The canvas lodge is situated in Top and Bottom Water Meadow, within the grounds of Mill farm. This haven of peace and tranquillity is also home to the farm’s chickens, from whom guests may collect their own eggs for breakfast.

Spectacular views take in the nearby stream and surrounding beauty of the wiltshire countryside, where according to local history highwaymen plied their trade. Today it is an opportunity for fishing, paddling or a picturesque walk to a local pub.

Guest facilities on the farm include an honesty shop for essential camping needs and daily necessities so guests can keep cool boxes full. The farm tours are also a real hit with families where all can learn what makes an organic farm tick and a chance of hands on fun.

Cosy toes are a guaranteed bonus for the duration of your stay as all the wood for your stove is included in the price! On arrival, your lodge will be supplied with a stock of wood to burn: if these supplies run low, we have a wood pile nearby undercover, here you can collect fresh supplies, a log splitter is available in this area should you need to chop wood or make some kindling.

The Canvas Lodge has a cool box, this is a very simple device for keeping food & drink chilled and fresh. All you do is place an ice pack inside the cool box and ensure it stays closed for best results. Ice packs are freely available in the honesty shop. We do also have refrigeration facilities in the honesty shop should you require.

Crisp, clean, white cotton sheets, snuggly duvets and plump pillows are provided in every bedroom, creating a soft welcome retreat at the end of your busy day on the farm . So there's no need to bring your own linen to enjoy sweet dreams in supreme comfort under canvas.

Our chicken coup is located in the Bottom Water Meadow, just a short stroll from your canvas lodge. Guests are welcome to interact with the chickens and to help themselves to eggs for breakfast. Please be polite as some of the chickens are shy! Eggs are in plentiful supply as we have them stocked in the honesty shop aswell.

Bottom Water Meadow is home to our chickens, ducks and rabbits. You're welcome to enjoy the animals throughout the day and join in with feeding times. Farmer Joe has provided some straw bales in the meadow for climbing on. He'll also let you know when the farm tour is taking place - a real, not-to-be-missed treat!

Situated in the heart of the Wiltshire countryside, Devizes our nearest town is a historic market town with an interesting past, the town enjoys a rich heritage of fine Georgian houses and a 19th century castle built on the site of a Norman stronghold.

Devizes has been home to a castle for a thousand years, although the current one is more recent and privately owned. During the Middle Ages it was the scene of siege and bloodshed as Queen Matilda fought to keep her English crown. A Medieval Trail chronicles these events and takes visitors around the town to points of interest. Also worth a visit is The Wiltshire Heritage Museum.
