The Ceredigion region

The cottage enjoys a tranquil setting and is surrounded by beautiful, green countryside views, including farm fields, hills and trees. A great spot to enjoy wildlife to the calming sounds of bird song. Located between the small villages of Abergynolwyn and Bryncrug on a quiet back lane in southern Snowdonia, it is also within 5 miles of the nearest beach in Tywyn.

There's a restaurant within 1 mile at Dolgoch, a village shop and pub/restaurant 3 miles away at Bryncrug and another traditional pub and a restaurant in Abergynolwyn (also 3 miles). All other amenities can be found in Tywyn, including a supermarket, bank, a range of shops, a good restaurant called Walkers Quality and even a traditional cinema. Tywyn also has good public transport connections by train and bus.

Just 4 miles south along the coast is Aberdyfi, a picturesque seaside resort with a great sandy beach, lovely cafes such as Y Bwtri Blasus and some more recommended restaurants, including Pharoah's Cellar Bar and Sea Breeze. Amongst the main local attractions is Talyllyn's narrow gauge railway which can be boarded at Dolgoch, just 1 mile from your cottage. The Centre for Alternative Technology, Corris Craft Centre and King Arthur's Labyrinth are all nearby, whilst Talyllyn lake offers some of the best views in Wales.

If you enjoy walking you will be spoilt for choice. From the doorstep, head towards the spectacular Dolgoch Falls, up Bird Rock (the only inland nesting site for cormorants in Europe), join the coastal path from Tywyn or take on the mighty Cader Idris, one of Snowdonia's most popular mountains. Other popular activities in the South Snowdonia area include cycling, watersports, pony-trekking, climbing, golf and fishing (all within 10 miles).
