Sidmouth is one of the most attractive seaside towns on the East Devon 'Jurassic' Coast.
The town nestles in the picturesque Sid Valley, lying between Salcombe and Peak Hills, each rising to 500 ft. The narrow, short valley ensures that SIdmouth is sheltered from extreme weather and is often a couple of degrees warmer than surrounding areas.
Nature has endowed Sidmouth with many attractive features including beautiful sandy and shingle beaches, tall red cliffs and wooded hillsides. There are many walks through these attractions which can be started directly from the apartment. These include the coastal footpath, running towards Branscombe to the east and Ladram Bay to the West.
Sidmouth town itself is unique in terms of its lack of commercialisation and modern developments close to the town centre. Essentially it is little changed from a century ago yet boasts a wide variety of unusual and tasteful shops. There are a number of fine restaurants and bars in the small town centre, all which are a level walk from the apartment.
Another feature of the town are the attractive green areas and gardens adjacent to the town centre and Esplanade. The main ones being Connaught and Blackmore Gardens and the 'Byes' riverside walk.
Other amenities and attractions, within a very short walk, include the parish church, bus terminus, library and health centre plus a wide variety of sports pitches and greens.
Supermarkets, bakers, butchers greengrocers and chemists are all an easy walk away. In fact many of our guests park up when they arrive and don't touch their car until they leave at the end of their holiday!
