The North Wales region

Famous for its choirs, stunning mountain ranges and beautiful valleys, this wonderful country has something for everyone. From Snowdonia in North Wales to the Brecon Beacons and the Pembrokeshire Coast in the South.

Llanberis

Llanberis is now one of the major tourist attractions in the Snowdonia National Park. It is dwarfed by the imposing Mount Snowdon, which is a major draw for walkers and climbers throughout the year. The village itself is often a centre for celebration, with events such as the Snowdon Race and the Snowdonia Marathon creating a real carnival atmosphere. For those of us who would like to experience the thrill of Snowdon's summit but without the effort, there is always the Snowdonia Railway; Britain's only rack railway and with a station in town. In addition to a number of restaurants, pubs and shops, Llanberis also has its own attractions, such as the 'Electric Mountain', the Llanberis Slatemines and the largest waterwheel on mainland Britain. If you are able to pull yourself away from all that this wonderful little town has to offer, you might want to explore some of the National Park itself, offering miles of unspoilt countryside.
