Cornwall is a perfect holiday destination as it has something for everyone. Beautiful beaches with waves on the North Coast for the surfers and calm waters on the South coast for the divers. Plenty of entertainment & theme Parks for the children. Fishing and golf for the Dads. Art and culture for the Mums. The Tate gallery in St.Ives, the building alone is worth going to see.
The Minack open air theatre and surrounding scenery is well worth visiting and if you are interested in plants, you will see some exotic species here.
Cornwall's number one must is a visit to the Eden project if you can persuade the children to leave the beach!
Porthtowan, a coastal village with a beautiful beach set within a magnificent bay flanked by steep cliffs on West Cornwall's rugged North coast. This is a popular beach for surfers and families alike. A number of shops and pubs are located near the beach. The bathing water quality is first class, the best in Europe. Award winning Blue Flag beach winner.
Very popular with coastal walkers as the coastal path drops right down into the village from both sides of the beach.
Surfers and budding wannabes will find surf school within walking distance of the property with hire of wet suits & surf boards.
The village is surrounded by historic mining relics with a converted mine engine house being one of the more interesting buildings in the village, and you do not have to walk far to see more of Cornwall's past history. Portreath, the next coastal village along in a Westerly direction is famed for it's harbour and Mineral Tramway. Cycle hire is available on the Porthtowan to Portreath road,( The Bike Barn ) ,which will allow you to follow the tramway all the way to a little village on the South coast called 'Devoran'.
In a Northerly direction, on the coastal path, you will come to Chapel Porth, another small beach with a National Trust Car Park & Beach Cafe, famed for it's 'Croque Monsieurs' and hedgehog ice creams ( ice cream cornet spread with Cornish Clotted cream & rolled in roasted hazelnuts). A definite must for food lovers of all ages.
Within walking distance of C-View is a variety of pubs from the family friendly Unicorn, which serves Pub grub to the more lively Blue Bar a more contemporary atmosphere with of course the view over the beach. For a relaxing morning coffee, the delicious food, or the lively evening entertainment.
There is a village convenience store, shops, cafes, post office and green play area.
A short drive out of Porthtowan along the coast road is the village of St. Agnes with its famous ' Stippy Stappey ' quaint houses and its shops, pubs & restaurants.
