Situated in a peaceful valley with spectaular views in all directions, guests can stay in a luxurious apartment with it's own dedicated private garden. Within the landscaped grounds is a 15m heated pool boarded by a large decked area with sun loungers and shades; here you can sip a cocktail, relax in the sun or simply soak up the inspirational views of hilltop towns, rolling countryside and the Sibillini mountains.

There is lots of space in the grounds to find sun, shade or tranquility under the pergola or in a hammock among the fig, olive and walnut trees.

Help yourself, with our compliments, to our seasonal produce of vegetables, pick from the herb garden or find fruit in the orchard. We have our own chickens so there are always free range eggs waiting for you each day! The original outdoor brick bread oven is ideal for our weekly complimentary summer pizza party where you can try your hand at making your own pizza - perfect with a glass or two of local vino!

The Marche region

Marche is on the Adriatic coast in central Italy, boarded by the regions of Umbria, Tuscany, Emilia Romana and Abruzzo. It is often described as 'all of Italy in one region' as it has a real diversity of terrain, coastline, towns and attractions. We describe it as 'the real Italy'. Your visit to Marche will be remembered for the beautiful scenery, welcoming people and wonderful food and wine!

We are in central Marche, one hours drive from Ancona airport and in an area of rolling hills and tranquil valleys. Each hill is topped by a medieval town waiting to be explored and with a small family restaurant where you can while away a long lunch or evening meal with a glass or two of local wine.

The area is not as busy as most other regions so you will enjoy the feeling of discovering somewhere still a little new and fresh.

Marche has some wonderful cities and towns you might like to explore with amazing architecture and history - Macerata, Fermo and Ascoli Piceno are within easy reach. The coastline is truly fantastic - particularly the Conero peninsula and there are many wonderful restaurants where you can enjoy an inexpensive meal while staring out at the water and watch the sail boats go by.

Also worth your time is a trip to the Sibillini mountains which are not far from us. Take a walk in the hills and see some stunning scenery (check out our website for some examples), take a boat out on Fiastra lake or explore the many tiny villages - each with a fabulous small hosteria. You might also like to try some horse riding, climbing or take a trip in a balloon!

Whatever you do we will guide you to the best places based on what you like to do - just ask!

Francavilla d'Ete

Casal dei Fichi is a short walk from Francavilla d'Ete which is a typical ancient village set up on a hill with magnificent views. There are all the amenities here including shops, bars and a great simple restaurant. Within a few minutes drive there are several other towns with restaurants and bigger supermarkets and facilities.

Nearby to Casal dei Fichi are the fascinating Roman ruins of Urba Salvia and the Abbey where you can take lunch and explore the grounds.

Take some time to explore the narrow streets of a local town, visit a local market, check out a museum or gallery or simply sit outside a street cafe and watch the world go by.

If you come in high Summer you might like the annual Summer open air opera festival in Macerata but if not in each town or village there is always a programme of live entertainment and festivals all through the long season.

The well-known Grotte di Frasassi (Frasassi caves) are one of the largest caves systems in Europe. The caves offer an underground world of lakes, beautiful transparent alabaster formations, vaulted caverns and stalactites suspended like daggers. Guided tours are available throughout the year.
