Our events calender is full, from carnivals in nearly every town during the Summer, the Isle of Wight Festival in June, a 1st class music event with top bands, the Bestival music event is in September, the prestigious Cowes Week in August, a must for people watching and spotting the celebrities! The Old Gaffers in Yarmouth, has street entertainers, food and wine set over a weekend in the Summer.
August bank Holiday weekend sees the scooter rally where thousands come over to enjoy the Island , also on this weekend is the powerboat race in Cowes.Places of interest to visit, is Osbourne House, Queen Victorias Summer residence, Carisbrooke Castle where Charles the 1st was imprisoned, Blackgang Chine, Robin Hill Country Park, Shanklin Old village, lovely for a stroll around in the evening, Godshill thatched village where you can get a lovely home-made cream tea...the list goes on!
Shanklin is a seaside town, with a lovely sandy beach, and a good shopping area. Shanklin has a regatta and carnival during the Summer with a great fireworks display.
Shanklin Old Village is a quaint thatched village lovely to have a wander around, great place for families.
