Villa Mimosa has to be the best apartment we have ever stayed in!
It seems as though Jenny & Nige have thought of everything-
So many wonderful touches-it has, genuinely, felt like a home from home,
We really don't want to leave.
The pool and surrounding gardens have provided us with exactly the super- chilled, relaxing environment we needed.
It's in a great situation to explore the surrounding area-lovely lunches to be had at Fustera beach!
Near to superb restaurants – Rondos & Sataris in particular provide a memorable night out.
Thank you, so much Jenny & Nige for providing us with a perfect holiday getaway.
We'll be back!
Ingrid & Gerry 9-15 Aug 2013 Cardiff. Wales
We have never spent a holiday in such a clean, well-equipped and beautifully situated apartment. The view from the terrace is exceptional.
Thank you Jenny & Nige for thinking of everything
Carol & Alan 29 May-12 June 2013 Swindon
The view from the roof terrace is even better,
Every thing else cannot improve because it is 1st class.
If you fancy golf, then try Javea GC- Not expensive.
This has been our 4th visit & we will be back.
Wow! I have been coming to Spain for 10 years and Villa Mimosa is the 1st place I have not had to clean. Home from Home is exactly the right description.
The views were amazing. Hope to come back again in the future,
Thank you for sharing this wonderful villa with us

Fantastic apartment-so well equipped!
(Try to play the game” what this apartment is missing is ------------------?”)
Can't be done, everything is here!
Pool is spotlessly clean and you don't smell of Chlorine!
We only stayed 3 nights (a break away from the kids for the first time)
I am sure we will be back.

Our first visit to this little bit of heaven
Perfect in every way!
Our thanks to Jenny & Nige for the thinking of everything, to make the apartment so welcoming, even down to bacon & eggs.
Special thanks to Nige for being our Knight in shining armour & rescuing us when we got wedged in the car park in town, over & above the call of duty!!
The view, what can I say except we could sit on the terrace & look at it all day but then the lovely pool beckons & and drags us away!
We've had a perfect week, thank you so much & we cant wait to return

“Another marvellous 3 weeks with Jenny and Nige. The apartment has everything we could possibly need and the setting is lovely with very pretty gardens and great views ........a truly relaxing winter break.”
5th November 2010
“We've just returned from our 10th stay at the Villa Mimosa apartment. We keep returning because it's so very comfortable, well equipped and we love the delightful views of the Med, the Penon d'Ifach and the Bernia mountains. It's particularly lovely sitting on the terrace either enjoying a meal or relaxing with a glass or two. If the sun gets too hot and you'd like some shade just wind out the awning. If you enjoy a dip there is a heated pool and guests are welcome to use it and to stretch out on the sunloungers on the pool terrace.
The villa over which the apartment is situated is in a well established, peaceful area yet within 10 minutes, by car, you can be in either Calpe or Moraira with their many restaurants, boutiques etc.
Nigel and Jenny are friendly, helpful hosts and not only is a generous welcome pack provided to get you started but you will also find in the kitchen cupboards all the "bits and pieces" you might need in the first few days.
Your hosts maintain a high standard of decoration both inside and out and, this year, Jenny who is well known for her artistic flair, has replaced the bedroom and living room curtains with a lovely, sunny, golden yellow material which seems so right for the apartment.
We hope you enjoy your stay at Villa Mimosa as much as we always do.”

5th-19th September 2010
This is our 4th visit to Villa Mimosa, and yet again we can not fault the exceeding warm welcome and excellent hospitality of Jenny & Nige.
What with Jenny's expert eye for detail in making the apartment a haven of comfort, and Nige's loving attention to the fabulous gardens and pool area.
This is a total “Gem” of a holiday experience.
Thank you both & see you next year!
Love & best wishes

Although our 4th visit to Moraira and our 2nd this year,
this is our first to “Villa mimosa”.
What a beautiful place, with absolutely nothing left to chance, from the very thoughtful welcome pack, to the detail in every aspect, could not have asked for better.
Jenny & Nige have been the perfect hosts and we now no why guests keep returning.
Alas the dream is over and the sunny shores of Ireland beckons,
but hope to return next year to Moraira to “Villa Mimosa”.
Thanking you both
Max & Sharon Coleraine N. Ireland
Had a good time at villa Mimosa very quiet and relaxing apartment . Just what we wanted. Also very clean and to a high standard.Thanks very much.
Karen & Ted.
We both had a great time in Moraira and the places we visited and will come back again.
The apartment is really comfortable and the welcome pack excellent, it gives one a nice start to the holiday.
Thanks for your kindnessand help.look forward to seeing you soon .
Regards Brian & Irene
We could not praise this holiday property enough. This was our third visit and was just as good as our previous visits. The wellcome package provided was excellent, including a bottle of very good wine. Situated midway between Calpe & Moraira, you are only a short drive from dozens of restaurants and bars and the nearest beach is just at the bottom of the road. The views of the hills and sea from the roof terrace are magnificent. It is also very quiet and peacefull and ideal for just relaxing and doing nothing. The pool is excellent, and like the gardens spotlessly clean. Jenny & Nige are excellent hosts and nothing is too much trouble for them. We have found a real gem here and we will be visiting Villa Mimosa again next year and probably quite a few more times in the future. Definitely a five star place.

Moraira and Calpe are ideally situated between a coast with both sandy beaches and rocky coves, and the mountains of the Marina Alta. The climate is ideal both for holidays and all-the-year-round living. The World Health Organisation has identified the northern Costa Blanca as having as near to an ideal climate as possible, being neither overwhelmingly hot in summer nor unpleasantly cold in winter. Average temperatures range from the mid-eighties (26-29C) in the high season to the low sixties (15C) in the middle of winter, and even in winter the average number of rainy days is around only five per month."Wedged between forest-clad hills and Blue Flag beaches, this welcoming, picture-postcard resort is friendly, fun and made for a family sun-and-sand holiday."
Tucked between Javea and Calpe, pretty Moraira is a huddle of sugar-white buildings wedged into a picturesque sandy bay. Take a closer look and you’ll see the town has a few tourist trimmings, with a gleaming marina, smart new waterfront and smattering of modern plazas. Yet beneath this spruced-up exterior, Moraira remains traditionally Spanish, with a romantic, central cobbled square and pace of life that’s still distinctly unrushed. Here, sitting at an outdoor café, it won’t take long to shrug off those 21st century stresses and let the Spanish way take over. If you need something to help you along, grab your swimming togs and park yourself on one of the town’s four appealing sandy beaches. Just a few minutes’ lounging and swimming at these Blue Flag beauty spots are sure to get you in a full-on, holiday frame of mind. When you’ve had your fill, stroll along the seafront to see the golden-stone watchtower overlooking the waves. Built in the 18th century, it’s a fascinating reminder of when the area was targeted by marauding Barbary pirates. Luckily, the pirate ships are now replaced by sleek yachts and boat trips ferrying holidaymakers to local resorts – Calpe or Alicante anyone? Talking of days out, there’s much to entice you away from Moraira. Travel to the cliff top fortress at Guadalest, play golf. Alternatively, drive into the pine forests framing the town and feel your heart lift at the wonderful views. Back at base, feast on the day’s catch at a harbour side fish restaurant and finish with a nightcap overlooking the beach, the whispering waves providing your own private lullaby.
Both Moraira and Teulada have festivals throughout the year and it is worth checking with the Tourist Information for details of these and other events. Also both places have an abundance of restaurants to suit any culinary taste. There will be some suggestions in the villa for you to consider.
Take a trip down the coast road to Calpe and onto the fishing port. Here there are some of the best fish restaurants in Spain. Most of the restaurants offer a “Menu del dia” which is the menu of the day. Always look for these as these are usually the best value way to eat in the area.
Flea markets and wine tasting in the Jalon Valley are highly recommended, or a little further afield Europe's largest palm forest at Elche.
For children (when not in the pool!!) there is a permanent fairground in town with many children's attractions, open daily till late during most of the year. Attractions like: Terra Mitica Theme Park, Aqualandia Water Park and Mundomar Sea Life Park in Benidorm, a half hour drive away.
There is an International Go-Karting at La Font Santa Track a few minutes drive away, suitable for all levels including dual seated cars for those with young children. (Tel: 965 741 469)
The nearest nine hole golf course is a 10 minutes drive away, but there are 8 other courses within an hour's drive from Moraira:
Club de Golf Ifach, Moraira, 7 kms: 9 Holes;
Club de Golf Javéa, Javéa, 8 kms: 9 holes;
Club de Golf La Sella, Denia, 20 kms: 9 holes;
Club de Golf Oliva, Oliva, 35 kms: 18 holes;
Club de Golf Don Cayo, Altea, 20 kms: 18 holes;
Club de Golf Bonalba, Muchamiel 70 kms: 18 holes;
Club de Golf San Juan, San Juan, 70 kms: 18 holes;
Club de Golf El Saler, Valencia 100 kms: 18 holes.
Outside of Moraira - Teulada one of the most interesting places to visit is Guadalest some 30 minutes by car into the mountains. Guadalest is of Islamic origin and at the time of its construction was considered a very valuable fortification. It was conquered y Jaime I and given to Vidal de Sarria whose family owned it up until 1335 and then later to Prince Pedro of Aragon. The now almost non-existing Castle of Saint Joseph, which can be seen in one of the rockiest points of the cliff, played an important part in the structural defence of the old city. It was originally constructed in the XII century, was reformed in the XV and in XVI centuries, was affected by an earthquake in 1644 and left to what it is nowadays.
The Castle – The street which leads to this area is called De La Pena and is extremely pretty. The most outstanding characteristics are the white-washed houses, the amount of flower pots that decorate each house, the variety of craft shops with its leather objects. The street ends with a long staircase where there is a door carved out in the rock where you can go into an older part for around 3 euros. At the end of this street is the Town Hall where there are dungeons dating back to the XII also carved into the rock. This is the highest and oldest part of the village where you can still see the local church of the Virgin, a bell tower built into the rock and the Castle of Saint Joseph mentioned before
The Arrabal – on the side of the cliff where the almost two hundred inhabitants have decided to make newer living quarters, leaving the “castle” for the tourists.
Having visited the town drive down to the reservoir and experience the tranquillity of sailing on the water in a solar powered boat.
Moraira is on the coast, part of the municipality of Teulada, situated about four miles inland. In earlier times the centres of population were situated away from the coasts to offer some protection from marauding pirates and invaders - Romans, Moors, Berbers etc. Moraira developed as the fishing port for Teulada, and both the lookout tower (Torre-vigia) on Cap d'Or overlooking Moraira's El Portet beach, and the Castle are reminders of the past.
In more recent times this quiet and peaceful fishing port has become a busy yet pleasant resort, which can perhaps best be summarised by what it doesn't have. There are no high-rises, no large hotels, no package tours, and no large and noisy nightclubs. It is simply a small yet busy town with many shops, restaurants and bars, surrounded by whitewashed villas nestling on the tree-covered hillsides. It has a large and multi-national resident population, and therefore remains lively throughout the year. Its popularity can be judged by the very large number of visitors who return year after year.
Moraira has four beaches, each very different in character from the others. The beach of El Portet is the northern most of these, being situated at the end of a sheltered shell-shaped bay, quiet with clear water and a gently sloping seabed, being ideal and safe for swimming. The town beach, or L'Ampolla, is a large sandy beach with a play area and restaurants. Platgetes is quieter and partly sand/partly rock; and L'Andrago is a boulder beach, ideal for snorkelling. Both to the north and south of Moraira there are many secluded bays and coves well worth exploring. Calpe has two beaches both blue flag with lovely golden sand lots of bars and restaurants also play areas for children. Great for sunbathing and swimming.
Watersports that can be enjoyed include swimming, snorkelling, scuba-diving, jetskiing, windsurfing, and for the less energetic, sunbathing. The three main beaches are all European blue flagged, and zoned and lifeguarded so that various activities can be enjoyed safely. Other sports include walking, climbing, cycling and horse-riding.
Javea itself is a small, historic town , free of high rise buildings offering a relaxing holiday and contact with a friendly and forthcoming local population. Javea old town is steeped in history, with tosca stone porticoes, gothic bay windows, wrought iron window bars and balcony railings. The Arenal area is the commercial and tourist part of Javea .
Within 7 minutes drive of the villa is Javea Golf Club situated between Moraira and Javea and is open all year round. The course is a 9 hole, par 72 and 3,035 metres. The course is easy to play and relatively flat. Other facilities include: driving range, putting green, heated swimming pool, club bar and restaurant.
La Sella Golf Club is 15 minutes drive inland near the village of Jesus Pobre. The course has 18 holes, par 72 and is 6,029 metres. The course although flat has many trees and water obstacles. This is a private members club open to the public. Facilities include: driving range, putting green, motorised trolleys, club bar, lounge bar, restaurant and swimming pool.
Both Javea and La Sella clubs have tennis and squash courts. Within a half hour drive north in Oliva is Oliva Nova Golf Club, designed by Seve Ballesteros. This testing course 18 holes, par 72 and 7,051 metres. The club has a shop, driving range, restaurant, swimming pool and fitness centre.
