The Apartment has 2 double en suite bedrooms, a spacious sitting/dining room, and well-equipped kitchen. The video entry phone gives entrance to the ground-floor level hall which may be accessed either by lift from our underground garage, or directly from the cobbled private access lane.

French windows from both bedrooms lead directly to the terraces. The 2 bedrooms each have twin beds. The sitting room has French windows opening to the Golf course view on one side, and to the shady L-shaped terrace on the other. There are fly screens fitted to all the windows. Both bathrooms have baths, bidets, showers & W.C's. The well-equipped large kitchen is cool, and separate from the living areas.

The marble floors with carpets & rugs in the living areas and tiled bathrooms, give the feel of cool comfort in summer, and cosy living in winter months. Air-conditiong means you retain comfort, and in the winter the heating means you can stay any month of the year.

The polished wood floors in the bedrooms and large fitted wardrobes, complete the comfort. Each bedroom has 2 twin 3' beds with top quality sheets and pillows, and luxurious mattresses. Full lengh soft curtains waft in the breeze from the french windows open to the private terraces.

The master bathroom has a jet bath. Both bathrooms have baths & showers, WC, and bidet. The air-con is, of course, best effective when the windows are closed.

The furnishings are designer chosen and fitted. The living room is furnished with ivory coloured leather sofa and chair. The terrace furniture is light and comfortable, and we mostly dine outside in most weathers. The indoor dining area seats 6 using the expanding dining table.

Original paintings around the walls remind guests of the UK and set the property a level well above that of just a holiday home.

Further details outdoors

The shared pools are kept beautifully clean, and there is a paddling pool for small children. Do be aware that our pools are not fenced or guarded, therefore very youg swimmers should be supervised

The large heart-shaped pool is floodlight at night; try a "midnight dip" under the stars! The children's play area with swings & etc., has a "safe" surface. No pets are allowed in the gardens & play and pool areas.

Further afield but within easy access by car, there are beaches varying from the "endless" stretches of unspoilt sand, to the busy beaches with full amenities. Rememer, this is the Atlantic with tides so the beaches are washed twice a day.(Please bring your own beach towels).

Nearby one finds tennis, water sports, fishing, restaurants to suit all tastes, supermarkets, a golf school, and endless other Algarve attractions.

Further details

The Apartment is strictly no smoking. However, with the consent of your party, smoking is allowed on our terrace outside, but use the ashtray provided.

We employ an English Management Agent who has her office only 10 minutes away from the Apartment. It is her job to ensure that the apartment is clean, well-equipped and ready for your enjoyment. She will make the arrangements for visitors to obtain the keys, and will visit you while you are there to ensure you have all you require. She is available to offer local advice and assistance, which she is pleased to do, having lived in the area for many years.

Extra cleaning can be arranged through the Agent. If the rental is longer than 7 days, the cleaner will come in to change sheets & towels. The Agent's job is to make sure you have all you need, and to answer any local questions you may have.

She will deal with complaints (we haven't had any yet!) and will visit guests at least once during the stay. The property is cleaned after your stay, and this is all included in the rental.

The Algarve region

Vilamoura village is historical. Indeed, there are Roman remains within 200 metres of Vilamoura Marina. However, little remains of the original village as permitted development has taken place over the past 10-15 years.

Unlike parts of Spain, development in the Algarve has been tightly controlled with only certain areas suffering some high-rise development. Vilamoura development is very strictly controlled with emphasis on "green" areas and nature reserves.

Our apartment is in a wooded area, the golf courses cutting a green swathe through the rich forestation.

The Marina is one of the largest on this coast. The result is a busy and interesting place to visit, but watch the restaurant prices!

For the price of a couple of coffees on the Marina, one can get a full meal only 60 minutes away in the hills away from the coast! A good selection of maps and guides may be found in the Apartment.

Consult the literature in the Apartment for a good indication of what can be found locally.

Bicycle rental is easy, but tiring in the hot summer. Sea fishing trips from the marina, which can be combined with coastal sight-seeing the caves and inlets, are good fun. The Zoo is well attended, the Water Park even more.

There is sociable Anglican Church (9:30 am, Sundays) just outside Almancil, the local town.

Try buying the English newspaper "The Resident" (weekly out on Thursdays), for most local events and attractions.
