North Devon is one of the most beautiful regions of England with stunning golden beaches, dramatic rugged coastline and picture postcard villages, This part of the coast is renowned for superb surfing conditions, and good transport links make it one of the most popular areas for those looking to escape the hustle and bustle of city life further afield for the chilled out surf lifestyle.
Driftwood is located in the centre of Braunton village about 5 miles from Croyde.
Braunton is an ancient village with a long and distinguished past and older parts of the village still boast picturesque narrow streets and cob walled cottages. It claims to be the largest village in Britain and attracts many visitors. It is therefore able to boast an array of excellent shops, delicatessens, art galleries, bars and bistros.
Braunton has a great position, being close to the beautiful beaches of Croyde, Saunton, Putsborough and Woolacombe, as well as having easy access to Exmoor, which is less than 10 miles away. It also plays host to the UKs only Biosphere Reserve, which includes Braunton Burrows (also a Site of Special Scientific Interest). Here you will find one of the largest sand dune systems in Britain, which is home to a range of rare species of plants and animals.
In addition Braunton is home to a 'great field', one of only three such open fields in England surviving from the medieval period.
Barnstaple is only 6 miles away and provides good shopping facilities ranging from top name stores, to boutique shops, to the daily Pannier Market.
