We are a large wine producing region, the summers are long and hot, the winters short and bright. The beaches of the Mediterranean are varied from long wide sandy expanses close to Perpignan, to small sandy coves such as Collioure near the Spanish border, a haven for artists, writers, poets, with fabulous shops, museums and restaurants.
There are 3 swimming pools nearby and lakes with beach entrance approx 30 and 45 mins.
The region is famous for its history of the Cathars, with many stunning castles. Limoux has a beautiful town sqaure and during the summer months often there is dancing to live music. Renne Les Chateau (5 mins drive)can be seen from Antugnac, made famous by Dan Brown's books.
The bakers van calls in Antugnac each morning with freshly baked delights. The local vinter M Delmas has a wonderful shop in the village where you can buy Blanquette, or walk down to Couiza and stop at the Haute Vallee cave with your bidon (plastic bottle) and fill up with the local Merlot for 1.50 euros a litre. Local markets in all nearby villages and towns. Nearest supermarket 3km.
