South east England is the warmest and driest region of England. There are many attractions to visit with historic buildings, traditional seaside resorts and beautiful countryside.
Sittingbourne has very little to offer visitors as a tourist destination in it's own right. The town is dominated by light industry and is renowned for it's paper making.
However, there is attractive countryside and farmland all around with many pretty country villages dotted about. Sittingbourne is also a very convenient base for visitors to Kent with some of the county's main attractions within 30 minutes drive or train journey from the town. These include Canterbury, Leeds Castle, Howlett's Wildlife Park and Dickens World.
There are blue flag beaches nearby on the Isle of Sheppey, approximately 15 minutes away by car.
Trains run every 30 minutes from Sittingbourne to London Victoria and St.Pancras stations with a journey time of 1 hour. In the opposite direction, trains run every 30 minutes to Canterbury, Dover and the Kent coastal towns such as Broadstairs.
