This charming stone built villa is typically Provençal, furnished in a farmhouse style, and tastefully decorated retaining the old beamed ceilings and exposed tiled floors, shutters and thick exposed stone walls. The villa was renovated and redecorated this year, and has new mattresses, pillows and linen. It is situated close to an ancient chapel which is only used the last Sunday of each month to ring the bell briefly at lunchtime.
There is free WIFI and the villa is completely secure and surrounded by a high stone wall and high electric gates.
If you plan to spend the day at the house playing boules, following the sunshine on one of the three terraces around the house, relaxing on a sunlounger or LiLo in the pool. The pool can be lit at night for swimming, a lovely way to cool off after a long day sight seeing! There is a summer kitchen for barbecues and a fridge under the archway near the main terrace for drinks.
The side terrace has a table and chairs for an alternative to the main terrace, and there is a a stone table on the main courtyard, in front of the summer kitchen, which is good for aperitif if you have laid the main terrace table for dinner.
For children, there are toys for use in the pool, and in the garden there is a slide, some toddler outdoor toys and a little house to play in.
Inside the house, on the ground floor, the kitchen is large, and fully equipped with some cookery books to inspire you. The laundry room off the kitchen has a washing machine, tumble dryer, ironing board and steam iron. There are two clothes horses and pegs which, placed on the side terrace dry clothes in the summer faster than the dryer!
The lounge/ dining room is large, and looks out with two sets of french windows and doors over the courtyard and the gardens. The dining room table seats 6-8 people, and the two large squashy sofas make a comfy place to relax and watch the flat screen tv or choose from the selection of DVDs. There are some for children as well. The bookcase has a selection of books to read whilst at the villa.
The office has a desk, bookcase with some more books, and a single bed, outside in the corridor a large wooden box seat contains baby and toddler toys, and the cupboard stores the cot, high chair and baby bouncer chair. The corridor leads to the second sitting room, which has french windows opening out onto the courtyard. This room also leads to the main terrace.
The downstairs loo and shower room are also off the corridor.
Upstairs, there are two double bedrooms, and one twin bedroom. One double and the twin look out over the countryside and the other double looks out over the swimming pool. There is an upstairs loo and a shower room.
The private swimming pool and choice of three terraces overlooking the garden remains a perfect spot to relax and dine al-fresco on delicious local food and wine after a long day exploring the treasures of Provence.

Hameau de Serres is a small village nestled in the middle of the wine region in Vaucluse, Provence, South of France. It is on the route de touriste for the Cotes de Rhone region and is a 10 minute drive from Carpentras, a lively market town steeped in history and 25 minutes from the centre of Avignon, a famous historical city of France and the site of the fabulous Avignon festival in summer
Within 5 minutes on foot from the villa, there is a boulangerie for fresh bread and croissants, a cafe bar tabac which also serves lunch, with a boules area, a hairdressers, taxi service, garage and degustation and sale of wine from Domains. Within 10 minutes by car, an E. Lecelare supermarket.
