You will enjoy being at walking distance from the Navigli, an old part of the city reached in history. Nowadays this area is known for its nightlife and happy hour (the famous aperitivi). Here is the heart of milanese movida with plenty of bars, good restaurants and nice ice cream parlors. You can also do plenty of shopping, in a plethora of shops located in the area (vintage clothes, books, forniture, design). Don't miss the antique market held on the last sunday of the month!
You can easily rich the city centre (Duomo square) in 15 minutes by tram number 3 (you will find the stop at just 5o metros from the flat). This is an historical line which crosses the most ancient part of Milan, with the "due basiliche" park and the San Lorenzo columns, in the lively c.so P.ta Ticinese area.
A few steps from the loft you will find University Bocconi and Naba.
The Ticinese area around the flat is a very vibrant and multhietnic area, full of restaurant where you can taste a variety of delicious cousins. You can find "two stars Michelin" restaurant like famous Sadler - one of the top in Milan - as well as low cost pizzerias or local milanese trattorias.
