The West Country region

Rockley Park in Poole sits on a hill overlooking the estuary of Poole Harbour. There is a private beach on site. It is next door to a nature reserve. Studland the National Trust Heritage site is on the opposite bay and the town of Poole is 2 miles away with Bournemouth and its many beaches 5 miles away. It is a great location to explore the Jurassic coastline where the start of the 640 mile SW coastal path starts. Whether going inland to explore Hardy's county of Dorset and visiting the picturesque towns and villages of Dorset or hiking, riding or biking through the New Forest barely 12 miles away. There is a bewildering choice of activities come rain or shine. The beaches locally are some of the best in Britain. Studland, either by road or ferry, is nearby. It is an area of outstanding natural beauty, and has many interesting walks, and beaches. Boat trips in the bay, or up the river to Wareham, are available along the Quay at Poole. Or for the more adventurous, water sports, jet ski, or boat charters. There is fishing, both at sea, and on land. Basically, something for everyone.

Poole
