The Community of Madrid region

The Ópera district is located in the heart of old Madrid, packed full of historic buildings conserving a feel of the imperial era under the Habsburgs rule.

Ópera Prima is situated in a privileged location just a few steps from the Royal Theatre with a view on it and very close to the Royal Palace, Plaza de Oriente, the Almudena Cathedral, Plaza Mayor, Puerta del Sol and Gran Via.

A few steps away is the well-know pedestrianized street, Arenal, connecting Plaza de Ópera and Puerta del Sol, and full of traditional shops. This area, characterized by its maze of streets bursting with all types of restaurants and tapas bars, offers the visitor a cultural and gastronomic experience in the heart of Madrid.

While the neighborhood is ideal for pleasant walks, it also enjoys excellent bus and metro connections, with a transport interchange with various metro lines and commuter trains at Puerta del Sol. If you are bringing your car, the area has a car park in Plaza de Oriente.
