CHAMONIX AS A WINTER SKI DESTINATION!

Perfect for skiers, boarders , climbers, mountaineers , base jumpers, sightseers...

Chamonix is unique; 5 different ski areas spread along a 10km valley, which snakes along the base of the Mont Blanc Massif. At the mouth of the valley the village of Les Houches is the home of the Kandahar world cup ski run, and a thriving resort in its own right. The Brévent ski area lifts off from central Chamonix, and is linked with the Flégère area in the neighbouring village of Les Praz. The Grands Montets ski area in the village of Argentière is a skier's paradise with one of the highest vertical drops in the world. And last but not least Le Tour at the top of the valley at an altitude of 1450m is a sure bet for excellent snow conditions.? Though famous for its extreem nature, which it certainly lives up to, Chamonix also catered for the more relaxed skiers, with gentle slopes on the South side and beginner areas in Chamonix at the Savoy and the Planards, in Argentiere at the Chosalets and in La Tour at the Vermaine.
