The area of West Waterford is surrounded by the Comeragh and Knockmealdown mountains and the Atlantic Ocean.
There are many lovely walks to be explored in the mountains, Coumshigaun is a spectacular lake in the centre of the Comeraghs and Mahon Falls is easily accessible for every climber.
We are within a short distance of 3 cities - Waterford ( 40 mins), Cork ( 1 Hour ) Kilkenny ( 1 hour 20 mins). All of these are very historic and great for a day out shopping. Kilkenny is my favourite because of its history, with Kilkenny Castle and Roth House the prime attractions and also because of its restaurants.
Brownes Farm House is located in the Ring ( Old Parish) Gaeltacht.
It is a rural setting with views of the Atlantic Ocean. We are 5 minutes from the beach. And it is safe for swimming.
Children can learn to skim stones, hunt for crabs in the rock pools and chase butterflies in beautiful natural surroundings.
We have a wonderful large garden to be enjoyed with lovely sun traps for sitting out in.
Many watersports occur locally , such as kayaking ,fishing and sailing
There are 3 golf courses within 15 minutes journey and all 3 can be played at a reduced rate.
The surrounding area has fine restaurants - with the Michelin Star Cliff House Hotel in Ardmore and the award winning Tannery in Dungarvan.
There are many local festivals including the West Waterford Festival of Food, The West Waterford Garden Trail, The Ardmore Pattern and the Immrama Travel Writer Festival.
We are very close to a number of towns , Dungarvan, Lismore, Villierstown, Youghal. All of these are very historic and Lismore Castle particularly is a wonderful place to visit.
