Abbey Road Studio and Crossing

EMI's Abbey Road Studios are located at the south-eastern end, at 3 Abbey Road, St John's Wood. The Beatles and many other famous popular music performers have recorded at this studio, and The Beatles named their penultimate studio LP Abbey Road. The album's cover photograph shows the four group members walking across the zebra crossing located just outside the studio entrance.

Hampstead Heath and Parliament Hill Fields

Hampstead Heath is a large, ancient London park, locally known as “The Heath”. It has long been a popular place for Londoners walk and takes the air. Parliament Hill Fields lies on the south and east of the Heath. It is considered by some to be the focal point of the Heath, with the highest part of it known to some as "Kite Hill" due to its popularity with kite flyers. The hill is notable for the excellent views it provides of the London skyline. The skyscrapers of Canary Wharf and the City of London can be seen, along with St Paul's Cathedral and other landmarks, all in one panorama, parts of which are protected views. Hampstead Heath is a favourite place for film makers! Notting Hill (1999) featured scenes shot at the Heath, located primarily around Kenwood House.

Camden Town

Camden Town has been a residential area since the 1790s, but it was only the development of the Grand Union canal and the improved railway transport that turned it into a bustling part of London. Today, visitors and locals gather to hunt for treasures in Camden's markets, stroll by Regent's Canal, and gaze at the beautiful buildings, sample cuisine from around the world, listen to live music and soak up the vibrant and diverse atmosphere. Many famous people, including Dylan Thomas, Walter Sickert and Amy Winehouse, have made Camden their home. The labyrinthine open-air markets and myriad retail outlets of Camden will keep the keenest shoppers busy, with everything from vintage to futuristic designs on offer.
