The South Hams is one of the most beautiful areas in Devon, with a wonderful scenic coastline. The towns of Totnes, Kingsbridge and Salcombe are just a short drive away and are steeped in history each with its own special charm and character. Our closest town is Dartmouth on the river Dart famous for the Dartmouth Naval College and attended in the past by members of the royal family. Dartmouth has a castle on the waterfront and is a popular centre for sailing and tourists. The source of the river is on Dartmoor and is designated an area of “outstanding natural beauty” with far reaching views and craggy tors; a very popular place for walkers and rock climbers.
We have some of the cleanest “Blue Flag” beaches in the UK and probably the mildest climate. There are an abundance of places to visit and activities to try. Why not try the great, fresh, locally produced food direct from the sea and local farmers.
The South Hams ticks all the boxes for couples and families.
Peace, tranquillity and stunning countryside coupled with beaches, great food and many attractions for all the family. There are boat trips. Steam train trips, canoeing, sailing, riding, fishing, diving, ballooning, castles, pottery, glassblowing, zoos, wildlife, walking, South West Coastal way and much, much more.
