The West Country region

Cornwall, in the far west corner of Great Britain, is a stunning peninsula surrounded by the sea on three sides. The incredible rugged coastline is interspersed with sandy beaches, fishing harbours and secret coves. The Cornish mining, smuggling and fishing history gives a fascinating context to the landscape.

Mullion Cove

There is plenty to do right on the doorstep, exploring the coast path, swimming in the secret coves, watching the birds (buzzards, kestrels, the iconic Cornish choughs and colonies of kittwakes, cormorants and guillemots on the island bird sanctuary) or watching the sun set over Mounts Bay as you enjoy a glass of wine in the garden or at the Mullion Cove Hotel.

Mullion village, a short drive away, offers art galleries, gift shops, cafes and, of course, The Chocolate Factory!

There is much more to explore elsewhere on the Lizard with Kynance Cove, Lizard Point, the fishing village of Cadgwith, and the seal sanctuary at Gweek not far away.

Close to sandy beaches (cliff path walk to Mullion Cove, or a bit further to Polurrian Cove, or a 2.5 mile drive to Poldhu)
