The West Country region

Somerset "The Land of the Summer People" often passed by on route to Devon and Cornwall but has so much here or all types of interests. As near the levels this is excellent cycling not too many hills,or if climbing is an option there is Cheddar Gorge down the road or the The Mendip Hills Crooks Peak can been seen from the site.A visit to Zummerset would not be complete without a glass or two of Scrumpy plenty of Cider Farms around to sample.Historic Towns are not to far we have Bristol with the Brunel Experience The SS Great Britain Suspension bridge The harbourside with its many cafes and bars or visit home of Bristol Glass take a boat trip down river or The Georgian Town of Bath where the Romans had their Spa. Wells the smallest city to have a cathedral and the oldest inhabited street in Europe near the Bishops Palace.Glastonbury next door is King Arthur land full of mystic and legends with the Abbey and Tor to visit along with numerous little interesting shops. For the bigger shopper we have Clarke's village designer land at Street another neighbour of Glastonbury.I still haven't mentioned the Cheddar Cheese and caves at Cheddar Gorge or visit King John's hunting Lodge which dates back to 13th Century.
