Things to see and do: This area provides an excellent base to explore ancient archaelogical sites as well as the usual tourist attractions eg. shops, bars, water park, etc. An hour's drive takes you to the Troodos mountains where there is a wealth of beautiful scenery. A trip to the famous monastery is a must. The Akamus is a conservation area where at certain times the sea turtles come and lay their eggs at Lara Beach. In this area there are many nature trails to explore. Off roading in 4 wheel drive vehicles is very popular also. Not far from Coral Bay is the tiny fishing harbour of Agios Georgios where you will see facinating sea caves. The fish tavernas here are particularly popular.Aphrodites Rock and Pissouri are worth visiting. Mini cruises to Egypt and the Pyramids are available with ships leaving from Limassol.

Eating out: Eating out in Cyprus is reasonable with a variety of restaurants and tavernas to suit all tastes and pockets.

Golf & Ski-ing: There can be no better area than this for golfers seeking golf holidays in the warmth of the Eastern Mediterranean. There are 3 challenging world class golf courses within a short drive. Aphrodite Hills is a unique 5 Star Award Winning Golf Course, with magnificent views from 2 plateaux, 300m high. It plays to a Par 71 and measures 6,665 metres. It is only 2 min from the Paphos/Limassol motorway. Tsada Golf Club is just 20 mins from Paphos, 550 metres high. The region offers everything from sandy beaches, fishing harbours, marina at Latchi, traditional villages and the larger town -of Paphos 0ld town with traditional market and also with Debenhams, MacDonalds, M & S etc.

Mosaics, archealogical sites- Tombs of the Kings, St Paul's Pillar - all within a 15 minute drive.

Watersports - Spend a day at the Waterpark especially if you have children - they'll have a ball!

Paragliding, jet ski-ing , banana boat rides all in Coral Bay.

Just everything - you'll be spoilt for choice and can be as lazy or as active as you like and remember Cyprus enjoys 340 days of sunshine per year - you can't go wrong!

Peyia

There are restaurants and tavernas to suit all pockets and tastes. Indian, Chinese, Greek, Italian etc....

We particularly like The Mill and Le Grande in Peyia. Neo's Sport Club is favoured by ex-pats and has a lot to offer including wonderful steaks cooked at your table, invariably by the owner, Stavros. There is a lovely rooftop area where you can survey the panoramic views to Paphos with all the twinkling lights at night - beautiful. There is caberet, pool, bowling available also.

A visit to Oniro taverna is a must - a little hard to find, go down to the main road and cross it and go down to the coast road -go towards St George and the Sea Caves and you will see a sign - the location is fabulous - right on the cliffs that are floodlit at night and you can enjoy wonderful sunsets from the beautiful lawned area.

Also if you want a barbeque with a difference with amazing views over the Gorge and Lara Bay where the turtles are, visit The Viklari (Last Castle) on the Akamas.
