Le Figuier is a pretty, newly restored gite in an ideal central location, great for exploring the wine regions of Bordeaux,
Bergerac and the Dordogne. On the borders of the Dordogne, Lot et Garonne and Gironde, you will be in the perfect location
for getting to know this beautiful area of France.
The entire property is on the ground floor, with a bright and airy open plan kitchen and living area looking out onto the
decked terrace and garden accessed through double French doors. Facilities include a single oven with grill, electric hob,
microwave and fridge with freezer compartment. There is also Wi-Fi and UK sat-tv.
This is the only rented gite on this property, the owners live in another part of the property which is seperated from them
by a large vacant barn.
Le Figuier is located just 5 minutes drive to the historic town centre of Duras (Lot et Garonne) and 6 miles from the ancient
Bastide town centre of Monsegur (Gironde). Both towns have a good selection of bars, restaurants, banks and shops.
Every week there is a traditional French market hosted at both towns and a popular night market during the summer months.
A well stocked Carrefour supermarket and petrol station are located at Duras (2 miles) or Monsegur (5 miles).
There are many festivals and events going on throughout the region all year round, including a popular wine festival at the Chateau de Duras and the (24 Heures du Swing) Jazz festival in Monsegur.
The owners offer you a very warm welcome.
Le Figuier is not shared and is not a multiple unit, this is a separate property behind the owners house. It forms part of a traditional large stone barn used in the Fig industry.
Walk out of the French doors onto the sunny patio with table, chairs and parasol overlooking the garden with views over the local countryside and fields. This is an ideal spot for relaxing with a glass of wine or to fire up the BBQ. The pool is an above ground type 4.5m in diameter and 0.91m deep, perfect for cooling off in the heat of the summer sun. You have your own spacious private garden at Le Figuier as well as private off road parking with room for several cars.

With more sunshine hours than almost anywhere else in France our region enjoys an almost perfect climate. With warm springs that start as early as February, long hot summers and mild and sunny autumns it's perfect for the outdoor life.
Just outside the historic chateau town of Duras, we are superbly positioned on the borders of Gironde, Lot et Garonne and Dordogne. This is in the heart of the vineyards of the Cote de Duras, with Bergerac and Bordeaux close by. You can take a tour of many of the vineyards. In addition it's just a short drive to the historic bastide towns of Monsegur, Eymet, Sainte Foy le Grande and many more just a little further afield.
For sport there's plenty of choice, with three golf courses within a 20 minute drive, lakes for sunbathing and swimming, rivers for fishing and a number of local tennis courts. And with superb and quiet roads it's perfect for cycling.
There are local markets on most days of the week and during the summer months we have the famous "Night Markets" which are a typically French event that of course includes food of the region, wine, music and dance. Great fun for all.
As you'd expect there are many bars, cafes and excellent restaurants to enjoy.
If you fancy a day out at the coast it's just 1 1/2 hours to the superb beaches on the Atlantic coast.
