Bideford Bay Holiday Park is set on an attractive wooded hillside with magnificent coastal views and the nearest beach of Bucks Mills can be reached by either taking a short (steep), but interesting walk through the beautiful woods on the edge of the park, (about 3/4km approx), or can be approached by car. It is a rocky beach with rock pools but with expanses of sand at low tide.
The Eden Project in Cornwall, about 1 1/2 hours away is a great day out and Lundy Island just off the coast, is well worth the boat trip from Bideford Quay, to experience the peace and tranquility there.
Bideford is a busy port/market town with an attractive quayside and some interesting shops, several bars and restaurants. At the end of the quay is a lovely park with a well equipped children's play area. In season the ice cream van of the locally famous Hocking's ice cream, can be found parked at the park's entrance. No holiday is complete until you've tried it!
