This charming 200 year old cottage has been delightfully restored with many modern comforts and is only a minute's walk of Dolgellau town square. From the wood burning stove to a shabby chic style dresser and original patchwork quilts, there are only two words to describe this accommodation and that is 'absolutely beautiful'. With numerous walks, restaurants, cafes and a range of interesting shops right on your doorstep, Seithfed Nef (Seventh Heaven) really is an excellent base to enjoy and explore Snowdonia.
Kitchen/diner: A brightly decorated spacious farmhouse style kitchen/diner with original slate flagstone floor, oak and larch beams. All the necessary kitchen appliances provided including a Belling range cooker, microwave, washer/dryer and fridge with a small freezer compartment. Also an array of quality kitchen utensils, pots, pans and baking dishes, cutlery, crockery and china are supplied.
A beautiful oak table is situated next to the window and extends to seat 8. Next to it you will find a lovely restored dresser together with a comfy 2 seater cottage chair for relaxing. Double French doors open onto a pretty courtyard style garden.
A staircase from the kitchen/diner leads up to the lounge. You will find extra storage under the staircase for bikes, pushchairs, golf clubs etc. This room has a separate entrance making it easy to bring bikes etc straight in to the storage area.
Upstairs - First Floor
Lounge: A very bright, spacious and colourful room with traditional stone chimney breast housing a Franco Belge log burner providing extra warmth in addition to the gas central heating. Original oak beams and lintels, a bespoke staircase and Sisal carpeting add to the rustic charm.
Comfortable sofas and armchair welcome you with a large flat screen, with DVD player, BT Vision and iPlayer facility. Free WiFi is also provided. A bookcase containing books for all ages, games, puzzles and a selection of maps, guides and activity leaflets is also located in the lounge.
Main Bedroom: Vaulted beamed ceilings with a beautiful crystal chandelier. Crisp white cotton bedding, feather pillows, cosy duvets and pretty vintage patchwork covers/throws on a very comfortable Laura Ashley double bed with quality pocket sprung mattress ensuring a good night's sleep. Matching bedside cabinets with lamps, chest of drawers and double wardrobe compliment the soft ditsy prints of the curtains and blinds. Soft fluffy white towels provided.
Second Bedroom: Decorated in the same style with high vaulted beamed ceilings and chandelier, this room has an antique small double (4ft x 6ft) bedstead and a generous single bespoke raised bed (3ft 3' x 6ft). Both beds have quality pocket sprung mattresses, feather pillows and cosy duvets with pretty vintage covers/throws. Bedside tables with lamps, a chest of drawers and a unique, medieval style fabric wardrobe. A cot can be provided in this room if needed.
Shower room: The shower room has a quality white suite with soft close WC, pedestal wash basin and 'rainwater' style shower with a separate body rinser with a stylish modern heated radiator. Hand soap, shower gel and shampoo also provided.
This stunning cottage offers a very peaceful and prettily landscaped courtyard style garden with a sandstone patio. This enclosed area includes a slate table and chairs and a separate decking area with another set of table and chairs. A small painted shed housing a generously sized barbecue. Large pots with a selection of shrubs add a splash of colour and interest throughout the year. Lovely views from the garden over the roof tops to the hills beyond.

Situated in the small historic town of Dolgellau in the southern part of the beautiful Snowdonia National Park in North Wales. Easy access to rivers, lakes, mountain walks and a dedicated cycle/walking path along the Mawddach Estuary all the way to the coast. This beautiful accommodation offers several scenic walks of mixed ability on its doorstep. It is also within a minute's walk of the town's shops, pubs, cafes and restaurants.
Several gift shops are located in the town square area or very close by, stocking a range of items and craft ware by renowned Welsh designers/artists. There is also a range of other shops including a couple of bakers, butcher, several café's, hardware, clothing, hairdressers, 2 supermarkets a Post Office and a Tourist Information Centre.
Amongst the best places to eat in the area is Y Meirionnydd, just a 2 minute walk from the cottage. This contemporary restaurant specialises in delicious menus using local produce. Other recommended restaurants in town include Y Sospan (traditional menu with a good choice to suit most palates) and Dylanwad Da, a popular Bistro with a regularly changing menu and a wide selection of wines. Just 2 miles outside the town you also have Bwyty Mawddach with amazing views of Cader Idris and the Mawddach Estuary. This restaurant boasts an award winning Chef specialising in fresh seasonal local produce. Dolgellau also has several pubs including The Unicorn with pub food, real ales and Sky TV.
There's a great selection of attractions in the area. First of all, your accommodation is set on the foothill of Cader Idris, the second most popular mountain in Wales for climbers and walkers. The Mawddach Trail (as seen on the BBC's Railway Walks with Julia Bradbury) is another must and the estuary views and the Blue Flag beach of Barmouth at the other end certainly makes this walk / bike ride worth the effort.
Coed Y Brenin's internationally renowned Mountain Bike Centre and Go Ape centre is also on your doorstep. It offers beautiful scenic forest trails for walking and biking of all abilities and an interesting visitor centre with a very good café. If you're looking for a unique experience, head towards Porthmadog for some Llama Trekking and Junior Quad biking. Other highly recommended attractions include Corris Craft Centre, King Arthur's Labyrinth, Portmeirion, Harlech Castle, Shell Island and the several steam mountain railways.
