The Tarn region of France has such a lot to offer from Tarn Gorges to Tarn Villages. Of course there are the usual activities such as fishing, kayaking, golf, swimming, walk and cycling, or just simply discovering the beautiful town and villages nearby.
In Lautrec 5kms there is everything you would need from a small supermarket to butcher, bank and baker. It has restaurants, pizzieria and two bars/bistros with spectacular views from both (Les Terraces and Cafe Plum). A beautiful historic part of the Tarn. You will not be disappointed.
Castres is the nearest town at 10 kms and offers much more in way of restaurants, museums (Goya museum, Jean Jarres, etc), shops and boutiques. It has a lovely park that you can have a boat ride to and enjoy a picnic in the Parc Gourjade.
Albi is only a 30 minute drive away and has the largest red brick built cathedral in Europe. It is also famous for its Toulouse Lautrec museum which houses a large collection of Henri Toulouse Lautrec's works. The river beside it is another wonderful place to picnic or venture into the restaurants for your French cuisine. You can find your perfect outfit in the boutiques or memento in Albi - not to be missed.
Further afield is Carcassonne or Toulouse. Both are equi-distant of just over an hour. A lovely day out.
