General information about the house and the island:
Alicudi has only about 100 residents. It is the smallest and pristine island of the Aeolian Islands. The archipelago was declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
Only a third of the 5.2 sq km island is cultivated. The volcano is extinct since 15,000 years ago. The island is 675 meters high and the Tyrrhenian sea is unusually deep. Therefore, the quality of the water is excellent and snorkelling and diving is great fun. Instead of roads and cars, there are footpaths and centuries-old stone stairs. For the load transports donkeys are responsible.
From May to November you can go swimming: Hiking busbars are recommended all year round. The cliffs are spectacular, the bird and plant life unique. From February to June blooming wild flowers all over the island, in the fall you can find tasty mushrooms.
